A Tree Fell on our HOUSE!
So last night it was SUPER super windy, 65mph gusts resulting as a pressure change from a mountain snow storm.
DH and I were watching 'Date Night', snuggled up on the couch when we heard a loud, dull thud. We started searching, looking out windows, thinking it was the fence or some lawn chairs.
I hear 'OH CRAP!' from my husband in the front room.
Our 35+ year old pine tree fell, right onto the house. Thank GOODNESS it did not do hardly ANY damage at all!
It's so funny because yesterday I was looking at this tree and thinking to myself 'hmmm, that needs to go. . .it's not looking so healthy'. I think I jinxed it, lol!
So we have the tree guys coming out to chop up our big old pine tree. As pretty as it was, it was a PITA in the fall to clean up the needles! So I can't say I'm too sad. I'm just glad that everybody, and the house, is ok!
Would you believe I don't have a before? The tree was taller than the house. The top chunk of it was on the upper eve, but sometime last night that broke off. . .so you can't really see how big this was.
The darn thing pulled itself up by the roots. It was getting so much water from the sprinklers that it didn't have to dig deep, and ultimately that was it's demise!
