Acupuncture

Hello Ladies -

I met a lady about a year ago who owns her own business doing Acupuncture, and I have decided to make an appointment and see if she might be able to help me with the issues I am dealing with (period and hormonal issues).  I just happen to be on her website over the weekend and noticed how she has helped a lot of women with infertility problems.

I will of course share with all of you my experience with it for anyone who is interested!  I remember a post awhile ago about using more natural techniques, and thought this might be of interest to some of you.

i did one round about a year ago...you need to keep going regularly...and they will sell you herbs to take with it too...expensive...they also hooked me up to a machine that sent very light electrical stimulation to the needles in my lower abdomen...i probably would have kept going but we moved...obviously it did not result in pregnancy, but it was very relaxing...

I think it is a great idea!!  I would love to do acupuncture one to three times a week, and supplement it with Chinese herbs... but like jackie said, it would be really expensive and who knows how many months it could really take??  Mariah Carey swears by it, and she's about to have twins!  Please keep us informed!  And GOOD LUCK!!!!!

Well I am back from our appointment.  I really like the concept of it, and I will probably end up doing it if I still don't O on Clomid.  She does all sorts of Chinese Medicine and she was having a problem figuring out what the best plan of attack for me was on because of my pulse (They use your pulse and tongue to help find treatment).  The problem was that my pulse and tongue were contradicting itself and she believes it was because of my Clomid (I even had a hot flash there!).  She recommends that if I really want to try acupuncture for pregnancy, that I to come to her when I decide to take a break from the medications.  I am still very early in the process with my medications, so I want to give them a chance to see if they will respond to me before I decide to abandon them all together.

Like jackie mentioned, she did tell me I needed to come about 2x a week to really see the significant effects of it.  Acupunture was 70/hour and that is not including any of the other services you choose, so it can get very pricey!!!

So all in all - I really believe in this type of treatment and I am very glad I went.  If my doctor's plan doesn't work out, I will definately try this route for awhile.

I tried acupuncture for almost 3 months to help me get my period - as I had not gotten it in 8 months after going off the pill with the exception of a 24 hour spotting after taking provera. Unfortunately it did not work for me and since I was getting impatient and the treatments and herbs were getting VERY costly - and not covered - I stopped. I get headaches all the time and always have but while I was getting treatments, I did not have 1 headache! But I haven't been in a few weeks and my headaches are back :(

I have heard a lot of success stories from ladies who did acu so good luck ccia!!
