Advice: Did Anybody Get a Layer of Crinoline Removed?

My dress is an a-line ball gown type of dress, which I love, however, I was thinking about getting one layer of crinoline taken out. There are three layers: One that starts kind of at my hips, one closer to my knees, and one that is the lowest layer of crinoline around my shins. They are tapered to give the full look.

I like the look, I just thought if I got one layer removed, it would still look full and beautiful, but a tad more FLOWY. Does that make sense? Well the seamstress had her opinion that it would make the dress look "empty" if I took one layer out. I know she is professional, but I did see Randy on Say yes to the dress, just rip one whole layer out like it was nothing. So I know it's done. haha. Has anybody done that? Or does anybody have any advice about it?

The lady said she will hem and bustle it, and "press" the crinoline so at my next fitting, I can see if even with the crinoline pressed if I still think it's too poofy, she can take one out. Just wanted to see if anybody else did that. TIA!!!!!!

My Mom thinks I should keep it as is also. So I have multiple people telling me it looks good how it is and I shouldn't mess with it.

I haven't seen it anywhere but where you saw it. I understand what you mean by more mobile, and flowing. What were you thinking? I would personally say the shortest layer, so you still have it "shaped" but it removes a little of the bulky up top, kwim? I'm by no means a professional though! And I am obsessed with your dress now, it's gorgeous!!

I feel like you should do it if you want to. What's the harm? You liked it the original wayand have to buy another layer of crinoline to add/wear underneath? Doesn't seem like a catostrophic consequence. And that's only if you don't like it.
