Advice Needed!! Vaca or No Vaca?

Hi Lovelies!!! :) Happy Monday!! I hope you all had nice relaxing weekends and are refreshed. I need some advice please....

Soooo DH and I try to do a trip once a year.... not necessarily a huge trip, but a trip nonetheless. This summer DH and I have been talking about taking a cruise to the Caribbean.

Backstory - my brother works for a cruise line. If we go on a cruise during his "tour" we get a family discount.... I'm talking 90% off the cruise (except we have to pay full air fare). I have dreamed about going to the Caribbean.... so DH and I thought why not (never been on a cruise... but hey, at 90% off I'll think about it!!).

My biggest concern is... what if I get pregnant? We would have to go by August 1st since that is when his contract is up. He might be going on more cruises (he's been doing this for the last two years), but what if this is my last chance to go? If I'm pregnant... I'm afraid I won't enjoy it. But then again, once we do have kids when will we get the chance again. But if we get pregnant soon, I'd rather use that money for the baby KWIM??

Help!!! I need to make a decision soon so we can get started on passport applications and actual booking.... but I am so back and forth. What would you do??? TIA :)

DO IT, DO IT, DO IT!!!!!! What a great opportunity.

If you are pregnant it will be nice to have a final adult trip before having to worry about carseats & strollers and diaper bags and if you're not you will be nice and relaxed and could fall pregnant on the trip!
(There are 6 of my group that have children, and 5 of us got pregnant on vacations so I'm a big TTC vacation advocate!!)

I went on vaca 7 weeks pregnant. It was a girls weekend away so it did stink when my friends went out to the bar while I stayed home nursing morning sickness but I still had fun!

I say go and enjoy it!

I would have to agree with the other ladies; take this opportunity and go on the cruise!! Don't worry yourself with 'what ifs'! :)

I say do it too! We've been having the same dilemma with getting a puppy, but finally decided that we can't let TTC hold us back from the things we want to do:)

I would also do it! I think you will have a GREAT time!

Also--not sure where the port you are leaving out of, but if you are going in and out of the same US port, you can go without a passport (if you are looking to save a little money!) I have gone 3 times and just take my birth certificate and drivers license.

DO IT! One thing I have learned over this last year is you can't put your life on hold while ttc. Yes there are certain lifestyle changes that we make but try to enjoy the things you wont be able to do once little ones come along. Take advantage of this awesome opportunity to enjoy some quality time with your hubby.

I definitely say do it, too! As many of the other ladies said, you can't put everything on hold because you might get pregnant. If you do, that's wonderful, and you will figure out a way to make it all work - you might feel fantastic and it won't be a problem at all. Even if you don't feel THAT great, it seems like one heck of a steal for a vacation, so hey, it's not like you'll be losing out on all that much! And if you don't get pregnant before then, it could be a perfect opportunity to spend time with your hubs and have that "one last" vacation before a LO would arrive. Enjoy! :)
