Advice: What To Do In Baltimore?

Family friendly?  We have never been, and I am thinking that is where I want to go for my Birthday this weekend.

The national aquarium
Fells Point has shops, little places to eat, (outside ice cream, lemonade, kettle korn stands) a pirate ship by the water for kids to get on and they usually have a Pirate show that the kids can be apart of, and a few more fun kid friendly things I've seen out there
If you are down by the water in downtown B-more, there is usually something always going on.

I know right now is the Cherry Blossom events in DC, so you may have more luck going down to the Tidal Basin and seeing the blossoms everywhere and all of the events they have planned.

Everything worth doing in Baltimore is at the harbor.  You have to be very careful.  They have horrible crime issues.  If you stray a few blocks in the wrong direction, you can end up in a very bad area.

I agree with Lady, be careful cause it goes from good to bad fast. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the aquarium that Soontobemrsg posted about. There are some good places to eat around there too!

The aquarium is really nice.  Be warned with the cherry blossom festival - DC becomes a complete S**Tshow.  I know you have a gaggle of kids and with a crowd that large i would get nervous.

they also have various boats and subs docked there that you can tour through, they're fun!  stay away from the subs if you're claustrophobic though, they're tight.  there's also a hard rock cafe, a shopping mall and all kinds of cool restaurants in the harbor.

Yes, it is family friendly. I agree with the ladies. You should check out the Baltimore Aquarium and there is a Phillips Seafood restaurant sitting on the edge of the harbor. If seafood is not your thing, there is an eatery place that has tons of different food stands you can check out. There is the Maryland Science Center that you can take the kids to.

Definitely recommend the National Aquarium, especially if you have never been there. The Inner Harbor has great food and shops also!...

Fells Point and Canton are also fun places to go. There are blocks of bars and restuarants and small shops as well...It is a fun scene, hopefully the weather is nice for you!!

Federal Hill is another spot to check out...Historical and has a nice playground for kids...and the view is absolutely breath takng, overseeing the whole harbor! That is actually were my ceremony is taking place!! :)

Also right next to Federal Hill Park is the American Visionary Art Museum...It is an awesome place where a lot of self taught artists display their work...That is actually where our reception is being held!

The Science Center is a lot of fun for kids as well...and is walking distance to the federal hill area...I definitely recommend checking this out!

Port Discovery is also very family oriented. This is a childrens museum has a lot of educational and interactive exhibits!

If you want to have a nice dinner I'd recommend The Rusty Scupper at the end where the Science Center is.  That's definitely my fave restaurant down there. I don't have kids so I'm not really sure what to recommend as far as family friendly goes but they do have paddle boats that you can rent which is fun and the aquarium is always fun too!

Thanks Girls!!!  I am having such a hard time booking a hotel room :/  Is there some big thing going on?  It's seems the majority are booked for this weekend.

Opening Day for the Orioles is Monday...Maybe thats what is going on??.. Are you just looking at hotels in the harbor? They are always booked quick and they are usually more expensive than the others...I know theres a Sheraton Inner Harbor, Marriott, Hampton Inn, Renaissance Hotel, also look at Pier 5 and Harbor Magic Hotels, http://www.harbormagic.com/...Good luck!
