airbrush tan

Has anyone done an airbrush tan before? I'm thinking about it but I'm a little worried it will be streaky, uneven, or orange. Think Ross from the TV show Friends or Bob Barker from Price is Right. Also, how long does an airbrush tan last?

Haven't tried that. But I do like my Dove energy glow lotion =). I'm currently using it right now to cover up tan lines on my back.

I haven't done it but I've heard from other people who have that they turned orange. I did think Ross from Friends when I heard that.

I did MysticTan for a friend's wedding. I had to go at least twice to see a noticeable difference. I wasn't orange and I wasn't streaky - and I'm really fair skinned. However, you have to be pretty diligent with the lotion they provide in order to avoid orange finger and toe nails and obvious streaking on the ankles. I'd do MysticTan again.

I've heard that the service where someone literally airbrushes you while you stand has immediate results and is longer lasting...

I didn't do the airbrush tan because I wasn't sure how it would turn out, so I did the regular tanning bed. The tanning salon that I went to in San Francisco also had the MysticTan booth, but I didn't try it. I just heard from a lot of people that they looked "orange" after the tan!

Hi Everyone! Just a few words about airbrush tanning...it is way different from the mystic tan. I am a certified mobile airbrush tanner. I travel all over northern california doing wedding party's. Airbrush tanning allows a fine misted solution to be applied evenly to your body. During the application process the solution dries almost instantly so that there are no streaks. Because I have control over the solution intensity I am able to keep you from turning orange. The process lasts about 3 minutes, and you cannot take a shower or sweat for 8 hours.
Congratulations to all of you! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me at www.sonomatanning.com

I relly like my airbrush tan.  It would depend on the skill of the person doing it though, as with any non-sun tanning, it need to be applied evenly to avoid blotchiness.  I'm using Lori at Salon Patrice in Encino (LA Area).

I did it and hated it.  My friend and I did it and it was coming off int he shower for weeks it comes off on  your clothes and you start to look streaky.  We went to a really nice place so I know it wasn't bad quality just the natur eof what it is.  Personally I wouldn't do it again.

I've done MysticTan... I am very, very fair.  I really liked it; however practice at least 2-3 times before your wedding.  It seems to collect around the nooks and crannies of the hand, and if needs to be wiped off that spot to look natural.  No harm and in trying it beforehand... see if you like it!  (My "sweet spot" with Mysic is 2 days after the treatment... I look perfectly sunkissed.)  Gook luck!

I have used the versa spa- a more customized machine. Airbrush works the best out of all the spray tans but I think they really only look good for 3 days.

If you're in LA, and you want to go to Sunstyle on Robertson (sunstyle.la)-  let me know, I have a bunch of free passes....

I work at a Tanning Salon (we only have tanning beds) and I have run into some really great and really bad tans from airbrush tanning. If you do decide to do the airbrush tan, pay a little more and have someone apply it with an airbrush instead of just standing in a room that sprays you down. The person that airbrushes you will know to put less on the rougher areas so they dont turn orange and can even put more self tanner in places to kind of add contours to your body. I would definitely say get it done before the wedding just to see how it looks on your own skin since everybody turns out different, expecially if you are fair. Nobody wants to look like an oopma loompa on your wedding day. If you tan easy and dont tend to burn just spend 10-15 minutes in the sun a day for a few months, a lot of doctors will actually recommend small amount of sun exposure per day since it helps boost vitamin d. As long as its in moderation, dont lather yourself down in tanning oil and lay out for hours and NEVER tan your face as it does lead to premature aging.
