♫ All By Myself ♫

I am 2nd shooting another wedding this weekend, and I just found out that I will be shooting the boys ALONE.  I'm talking...all alone during the getting ready & all of their formals (~2 hours) and the primary shooter will be at a completely different location with the girls.  I think it will be fine, but I am definitely nervous.  She wouldn't have asked me to do that if she didn't have some confidence in me, but I want to do a good job!  At the last wedding I did all the getting ready shots & a bunch of BMs/bride shots alone, but for some reason working with the guys is kind of worrying me!  Hopefully they will be goofy & fun & the worrying will go away quickly!!  Any advice?

Don't worry! :) They'll most-likely be drinking and will probably be quite entertaining... when you and I did the wedding and we split up and I went with the guys, I just kind of hung back and watched for "moments", like someone tying his tie, the guys doing shots, hugging, high-fiving (ha ha)... same as girls, just less... girly! LOL  You'll be fine my dear!! :)  And for the group shots, just let them be as casual as possible... I HOPE they'll be a good, fun group for ya!!

Ditto what Allie said. And if you do formal group shots, just make sure they're doing the same thing with their hands (pockets or folded in front - not in back as it makes their jackets bunch). Then just tell them to do goofy things - jump in the air, do their best bond impression. And maybe find out what their connection is...maybe they play soccer together and have a cheer they all know? Or a Fraternity thing? Just make them laugh and loosen them up and you'll get great shots.

Also, a tip I learned from my wedding photog - tell the groom to laugh at his feet. He'll think you're crazy but then he'll do it and you'll get adorable pictures like these of DH :)
