Already marrieds: inspire us!

I know that there have been several posts about getting overwhelmed in the planning process. Personally, I need to do *a lot* this weekend. I have fun doing my DIY projects, it is just very time consuming. Let's hear a few words of inspiration from those of you who have already had your "big day" to keep us going! Let's hear some "it was all worth it in the end" stories : )

It is all worth it in the end!  I remember going through 'waves' of stresses/frustrations.  Like around the 6 month mark and then the 2 month mark.  Dealing with vendor issues, then invites/RSVPs- last minute stuff.  But we all go through it!  Try to do one thing at a time, and don't go over-board haha no one will notice the teeny tiny little things that we tend to overthink.   Most of all try to connect with you FI or re-connect if thinsg have been crazy!  Plan a quick getaway before the big day and spend time together- DIY aside haha  It will be very special and helpful in all the madness.  In the end you will have a beutiful day no matter what, I don't care how rad your wedding is- its that connection that day beween you and your hubby, I will never forget it...

It is definately all worth it in the end! When you see everything come together on the day of and how beutiful it all is. You will feel so proud of all your hard work. There are things that I added even st the very last minute and I'm glad I did. But HMM is right ont he day of the only thing that will matter is you and your FI! The connectiong that you will have with your future hubby is what you will remember forever and appreciate!

Make sure you do something just for yourself to relax (manicure/pedicure/massage or whatever floats your boat) and turn off the phone so no one can bother you!

Also keep in mind that if you don't get it done your day will still be amazing. No one will know that one project was missing.

Remember that it's YOUR day! Try to keep YOUR needs and dreams at the forefront and SPEAK UP when you arent down with something. Others might remember it for a few months or when they see a pic but you two will remember it forever!

I remember feeling stressed and upset.  I had one minor melt down because I was working 70hrs a week, plus trying to plan a wedding, book an overseas honeymoon AND DIY a bunch of stuff.  I was going insane.

FI pulled me out of it telling me he was my partner and was here to help and to PLEASE give him a job.  I felt a thousand times better once I opened my phone, gave him all of the vendors names and numbers so he had them too, assigned him to work on the honeymoon, and we hired a maid to come in and clean the house every other week while I did crafty crap.  Clean house made me feel a thousand times better.

Take a deep breath.  Remember you're not alone.  Remember there is an end to the insanity.  Remember that at the end of the day, all that matters is you and him.  You will look stunning, and your wedding will be perfect because it will be the beginning of you and him together.  Nothing else really matters.

I agree with what's been said...

-Pace yourself with DIY projects. If you can get it done early, do it. If you're not sure if you'll have enough time, it probably won't be missed.

-Plan some weekends with your FI that don't involve wedding planning at all. Don't even talking about wedding planning.

-Try to be finished with all projects at least a few days before your wedding. Then plan to relax as best you can those last few days. Get a mani/pedi and a massage and spend a lot of time breathing. Spend more time snuggling with your FI too. ;-)

-Don't stress over stuff that you ran out of time for. In the end, they will only be missed by you.

-Don't ever loose sight of what the day is all about. It's not about favors, centerpieces, candy buffets or aisle runners... it's about a once-in-a-lifetime moment to share with your best friend.
