An Oldie, But GOODIE: Stupid Question Thread

Ladies, we had a fun time with this thread in the past and I wanted to bring it back just in case some of our newer ladies had questions and were afraid to ask.

REMEMBER:  No question is too small or "stupid".  So let's hear those questions ladies!!!

OMG I *LOVE* these threads!

I remember my first Q was what SMH and KWIM were. They drove me INSANE trying to "Get" them!

(Incidentally, they mean Shaking my head, and Know What I mean?)

I had the SAME question about the STD one.  I was so shy back then to ask questions.

Ok! So here it goes:

Q1) Do you always have engagement pics? Because are used for STD?

Q2) Do you always send STD? Do people get offended if they don't receive a STD?

I say "you" because, as some of you know, I live across the globe -in Cyprus- and we have some diferenses in traditions. I have learned a lot but still...

Okay! So, engagement pics are nice, and wonderful for a variety of reasons, not just STD. You can use them at the wedding, during wedding announcements, for photo books after the wedding, etc.

You DON'T always send STD's. It is MOSTLY for long engagements or Destination Weddings. anything to give them some extra time to plan, save, etc. Hope that helps! :)

I didn’t have a STD or engagement photos. I think that it is absolutely a choice.

I think the STD is a great idea especially if you have alot of friends, family etc that are getting married around the same time or if you live farther away and want to give notice. We didn’t have a huge wedding and I sent an email to the people that I wasn’t sure about. The rest already knew when the wedding was and where just expecting invites when the time came.

The same goes for engagement photos. They are beautiful and a great idea but again it comes to down to preference and budget.  We didn’t have an engagement party either.

Aw! Thank God for the STD because I was a litle anxious lately because we just send an e-mail and a telephone call and not a proper STD as the ones I see here to some of our American friends and was thinking: what if we did a mistake and they were just too polite to say anything? hahaha

Thanks Ladies!!!!!

Ok as long as I think more questions pop out in my mind...

Q3) How on earth can I change the order of the posts on my bio? Now there are in chronological order.

Q4) What is the difference between a really small wedding and an elopement? Here the elopement means that a couple got hitched and got married in secret!

Ooh, I can help with the bio posts order question!

When you're looking at a section of your bio, at the top right corner, there will be a little pencil. Click on that pencil to edit that section. After you click on the pencil, you will be able to find a couple of green arrows at the bottom that point up and down. Click on the up arrow to move that section up one spot in your bio. Click the down arrow to move it down one spot. You have to move them one at a time, but keep on clicking and you should be able to move one all the way from the top to the bottom or the bottom to the top. :)

And here an elopement generally means that the couple went away and got married somewhere, usually alone or with just a couple of friends as witnesses.
