Announce on FB?

Are you going to announce your pregnancy in FB? If not, how will you tell friends and extended family? Email? Call? In person?

I'm a little torn on this one. I want to tell a bunch of people but I'm always weary of FB.

When we are expecting (unfortunately till now not) we will def wait after 12 weeks to tell friends and rest of family members (parents and my twin sis will be the first at 8 weeks) and then do it in person. I don't like to put Baby news or other baby relevant details to put on FB. But this is only our point of view. :)

We've only told a select few people this time around, after losing the first one we learned to not share prior to 12 weeks.  Our parents know and my one knows, and you girls of course! haha  I won't put anything on FB though, DH thinks Facebook is the devil and only encourages gossip haha.  As far as others, once we hit 12 weeks we'll let my brother and DH's sister know, other than that, as people find out, they find out.  We didn't receive a great reaction the first time we found out we were pregnant so we're a little sour on caring if we tell people or not.

We will be calling our close friends and family first.  Our immediate family and best friends already know, and we will tell the rest at 12 weeks (which should fall around Thanksgiving).

The facebook world will find out via facebook proabably around December.  I thought of tying a bow around my belly and writing on a little card.."bundle of joy, open June 2013" and making it my cover page or something :)

FB is so touchy and there is so much etiquette that goes along with it I feel that people are still navigating.  One of my friends posted an ultrasound picture and forgot to call one of her friends and the friend was miffed that she found out through FB.

Last pregnancy, our parents and close friends new around 7 weeks and I annouced right at 12 weeks to FB.  it was a shock, and we were going on vacation the next week where alcohol would be involved and I didnt want people to figure it out bc I wasn't drinking. I wanted them to hear it from me.

This time I'm torn, I already know how I am going to do it lol but I just dont know when, Part of me says around 12 weeks again (which will be close to my birthday dec 8th) part of me wants to wait till around 20 weeks.  However, I would rather the world find out from me and not through the gossip chain so ill probably post something at 12 weeks.  Not to mention thats how all my coworkers found out last time on facebook.  I'd rather not have to tell all of them in person this time too.

My plan is to put a family picture up on facebook, and say something, something, something (my plan is still a work in progress lol) the fact that your looking at a family of 4 = PRICELESS ..... lol

We told all of our immediate family between 6-9 weeks. We've slowly told friends/co-workers and we've got a few more to tell before we announce on FB. DH didn't want me to post anything at all as he too hates FB, but I told him it wasn't an option. I'm excited and and I want to share. Plus I'd be pissed if a Grandma/Grandpa/Uncle/Friend posted it before me since it's our news to share.

I've been googling some cute ways to announce and I'm not 100% sold on any of them. We are only a few weeks away from finding out the gender and might announce both at one time. I'm honestly surprised that at 17 weeks no one has slipped up and posted anything!

We have our us on monday and I will almost be 11 weeks so as long as that goes well then we will post on fb. I want one of those cute prego skeleton shirts with the baby skeleton- even though I am not showing I think they are cute- sO I will prob wear that and have my puppies in the pics some how! Im excited to share it with our fb friends due to us being so far away from lots of people we love- if u are close to us then you know, but there are people we still love that don't know- so it will be fun to share and receive love.

We did not announce on FB until 20 weeks. I just put up a few ultrasound pics. We did not tell anyone (except family and only very few close friends), so it seemed like a good time to let everyone know. We are private with personal stuff, but I knew that I did not want to deal with all the questions once he is born.

a lot of our close friends and family already know.  we have our first pre-natal appt monday which will be almost 10 weeks, so as long as everything goes ok there we're going to call the rest of our people and then announce on fb.  we're carving a pumpkin that says "we're pregnant!" and carving a baby in a womb in another :)

I'm thinking about using this picture to announce with the caption, "Baby's first pumpkin" but DH doesn't think anyone will really get it. Thoughts?

Well, DH def said no to FB so instead we've been emailing and texting friends. For a select few we just arranged dinner so we can share the news. I'm sure the word will spread quickly.
