Any weight loss workout DVD recommendations?

I'm trying to find a good weight loss workout DVD as I have 4 months to lose 15lbs! Been checking out Amazon reviews, but there's too many to choose from. I'm trying to lose weight and tone my arms and lose some tummy. I have 5 lb weights and an exercise ball that I barely use so I'm looking for a DVD that may incorporate the use of these. Otherwise, I'm open to yoga. Any recommendations?

i'm a big time infomercial junkie. i just bought turbo jam and i really like it. the music and the moves are fun. it's like taking a aerobics class. she incorporates kickboxing and capoera [i dont think i spelled it right] there is also a weight lifting part that i find fun [i never thought i'd say that hehehe]
i bought gunner petersen's core something work out and he uses an exercise ball too. i really liked this one too. i lost the dvds and my ball =(

I'm also looking for other work outs too so i can change it up.

hth!

I highly recommend doing the Nike + IPod program. I just got it and I'm obsessed with it. For DVDs, I would recommend Windsor Pilates. You can really feel your abs afterwards.

I second Winsor Pilates! The newer ones include the resistant band things. I have back issues (since I was 4 yrs old) and Pilates has been the only work out that gets fast results without straining my back. I always feel so much taller and leaner after finishing a workout...I love it!!!

So far, it looks like Turbo Jam and Winsor Pilates. I'll go look for these tonight. Thanks all! Still open to other recommendations.

It's kind of silly, but my sister had a lot of success with Carmen Elektra's Aerobic StripTease DVDs. The 1st DVD has a basic dancer's workout that really worked the legs, butt and core muscles. The later DVD's teach a striptease and a lap dance. We did it together a couple of times and it was easy to forget we were working out. ;-)

Good luck!

Are you in LA? If so you gotta check out Cardio Barre. It will kick your butt, in a good way. If not you can find the DVD online. It's cardio with low weights and lots of reps. It will give you the slim dancers body. I'm totally addicted.

Abattyref...I have to admit, I love Carmen Elektra's DVD's! Out of curiosity I tried it out on Comcast "on demand" and loved it. While FI was out of town I worked on a "routine." By the time he returned, I was feeling good physically from the workout but also sexy from the new moves...FI loved it!

I love pilates with mari winsor. The only thing that annoys the hell out of me are the assistants. They all have artificial smiles while doing the hardest positions. Stop smiling. It's hard.

I am a firm believer in the The Firm ?

It really does firm your booty! It has a combo of cardio and muscle building. You need the cardio to burn the fat. Then when you build muscle you burn more calories at rest. So you need both. As women, we tend to focus on cardio/weight loss and forget the weight training which is a key part. So make sure that you pick a system that does both cadio and weight training.

If you want to loose 15 pounds in 4 months, that's about 1 pound of fat per week. It is totally doable. Keep in mind that you will need to either burn 500 calories a day working our or reduce your food intake by 500 calories a day to loose 1 pound per week.

Stick to lean proteins, lots of fruit and veggies and whole grains. If you can, stay away from alcohol (wine is my downfall) and try not to drink your calories- that means soda, lattes, juice and other high calorie/high sugar drinks are out.

I am a dietitian, and weight loss is my specialty, so you touched on a topic I can talk about for days! Hope this helps.

I bought P90 from beach body (not the P90x one, the original) it's 40 min of cardio every other day and 30min of weights on the other days, with one day to rest, if you do that for a month, i dropped 2 pants sizes, along with eating well. The program in total is 90 days, you should check it out and it actually works!! Good luck!

I am doing Jillian Michael's 30 day shred. It is only 20 min, but it is tough. There are 3 levels, but she recommends starting at level 1. Jillian was also one of trainer on The Biggest Loser. I consider myself to be very activing running and weight lifting 5 days week. When I did her level 1, I was dying. Trust me, she works you out.
