Anybody hear of Church Street Bridal?

I was on wedding bee and I keep seeing Church Street Bridal based out of Lynchburg, VA.

I went to the website and it seems legit. You can get actual designer dresses for a few hundred dollars instead of thousands. I do not know about customer service or anything other than what I read but I have never heard it mentioned on here. Does anybody have an experince here? Also it seems to have a pretty good rating under vendor reviews. anyways just thought I would share

Their main office is in VA, but they are in fact a replica company. There is nothing wrong with replica gowns, but you want to make sure you have legitamite. On a forum ( I dont have the URL sorry) I saw some horror stories from that shop.

If you want designer replicas, try Jasmine's Bridal. Beautiful quality and craftsmanship. You can see their examples on their Facebook

http://www.facebook.com/pages/Jasmines-Bridal-Shop/134074349988216

and their products on their website

jasminesbridalshop.com

They also make any gown that you like, you just have to send them detailed photos :)

oh they are under vendor reviews on this site and it said they sell sample gowns form Kleinfelds. I did not know they are replicas. That's why I was wondering if anyone on here has used them. I never know what to believe on the internet that's why I like to come here and get honest opinions.

I saw that too.  I thought they were running a shop with the proceeds benefitting the YWCA programs.  The discussion said that they got their goods from Kleinfeld's and she also showed the designer's tags on some of the accessories.  It looked like an awesome steal.

They are not a replica company. @Caelasmom is correct. It is a non-profit company that receives donations of designer dresses. Proceeds of the sales benefit the local YWCA programs. Some of the dresses may be discontinued, slightly damaged, samples, etc. But, they are are not replicas.

Also if you visit wedding bee, one of the members is volunteering there and has posted tons of dresses for people to see. Actual bee members have purchased from there and have written threads on it. Go to weddingbee.com and just search Church Street Bridal and go from there.

My mistake, I guess I was thinking of a different company with a similar name :)

They are not replicas. Kleinfelds donate their dresses and samples to Church Street and they sell them to support the Lynchburg YWCA's domestic abuse services and other programs for women and children in need.
You can visit here for wedding bees who have purchased gowns - http://classifieds.weddingbee.com/topic/the-sample-gown-gold-

Church Street Bridal gets samples from wedding salons like Kleinfeld and designers like Fancy in New York.  I have been to the shop and I have seen the boxes come in from Kleinfeld with Kleinfeld tags still on them.

I was the one who started the talk about Church Street Bridal on the Wedding Bee and The Knot.  I stumbled upon the place and was stunned by the Kleinfeld tags.  I was THRILLED that samples that Kleinfeld and others no longer use were being sold a) at prices that brides on a modest budget coule afford and b) to support services for survivors of domestic abuse and others in need.

I even took a picture of a box that was sent to them with Kleinfeld's return address.  I'll post it when I get home tonight.  :)

Hi everyone!  Just wanted to come back and share the picture that might settle your worries.  I'm so glad I snapped this!  I volunteered to help the YWCA folks set up the Church Street Bridal blog and while I was working on their computer, the FedEx truck pulled up.  I got to watch them unpack a few Pnina Tornai dresses.  :)

Hi everyone Just wanted photo 3110511-1

That's the project manager for the YWCA checking out what was sent...

Hi everyone Just wanted photo 3110511-2

If you've been to Kleinfeld, I'm sure you recognize those white tags. The little manilla tags are the ones the Church Street Bridal people put on. :)

Hi everyone Just wanted photo 3110511-3

Also, on an episode of Say Yes to the Dress, one of the consultants was looking for a particular dress.  When she asked another consultant where to find it, the response was "we shipped it to Virginia yesterday."  It seems to me like Kleinfeld (and the other salons) really support the mission of the shop.

Anyway, they are lovely people.  They have a very small staff and I think putting them on Wedding Bee and making them a blog was both a blessing and a curse for them...they're happy to send dresses to people who want them (some of the more fashion forward ones probably aren't right for their local brides), but they don't have enough people to handle all the phone calls and emails they've started to get.  If you contact them, give them a few days to respond.  :)

Wow...thank you to those who corrected this listing.  I am the manager of the shop and WE ARE NOT A REPLICA COMPANY.  This really upsets me as I work with volunteers, board members and staff that work themselves to the bone everyday to raise money for the YWCA Programs.  Perhaps before someone lists a comment like the one earlier, they should use google and research.  We visit Kleinfeld each year and Mara, Ronnie and Dorothy are so gracious to us, welcome us into their shop and send us hundreds of items a year as in-kind donations so that we can make up for the tens of thousands of dollars lost in grants because of government cuts.

Our website is ywca.org/centralvirginia, churchstreetbridal.com and our blog is churchstreetbridal.blogspot.com.  If you want to see a story about some of those we help, visit livedreamshare.com and look for the video called "Waiting for the Sunrise."

My email is mduncanywca@yahoo.com if there are further inquiries.  I know I like to go to the source to get the truth so feel free to ask me questions instead of guessing.

Thank you!

Michelle

Bumping for mduncanywca and for clarification purposes. I  am not sure what the posting policies for links are here. However, there are so many "testimonials" on weddingbee and a ton of real pictures that I think PW would benefit from this. I believe Jeannine posted a ton of pictures and is a member of weddingbee, I am not. I only stalk there and recently joined here. I took particular notice to the work being done at Church Street bridal as a stalker on the bee and LOVED it. I think from my non-member PW status and looking at this site for a long time from far, members here would love the offerings of Church Street Bridal. There are a lot of budget brides and brides just in search of certain dresses that would love this access and to know that it helps a worthy accountable cause is all the better. From what I saw the offerrings are for style-conscious/savvy brides are notable; not just those looking for a deal, although the deals are great!

By the way from what I saw posted, were pictures of real price tags and the orgs' markdowns.

Aren't the PWand wedding bee sites now owned by the same company? Can we cross post/reference without being flagged?

Thanks ladies!  I appreciate the support and we are SO HAPPY to be able to provide the service to ladies all over the place!  I can't say enough about the generosity of Kleinfeld and the heart those ladies and men have there for the YWCA.  We are so blessed by them and we even tell girls to go visit them if you don't find something here because they are 100% classy and fabulous!

We aren't perfect here at CSB but we do try to provide our clients with equal respect, quality customer service and extravagance without the expense!

Can we please also remember that people make mistakes? She apologized, and admitted she was confused. Let's show some forgiveness.

On another note, it's great what you are doing.
