Anyone been to Santa Fe?

So we are looking for a U.S. honeymoon.  We live in Alabama so we go to Florida, Tennessee and Savannah (surrounding islands) all the time.  We are also going to a destination wedding in Tulum less than 2 months after our wedding so we aren't wanting tropical.  We are getting married in January and I just wanted to know if anyone has been to Santa Fe, NM or has any other ideas about U.S. Honeymoons.

Thanks!

Yup- it is really cool.  A lot of art and culture... we just went this summer and found a really sweet hotel deal on Hotwire.  We went to the Georgia O'Keefe Museum, the Santa Fe Museum of Folk Art, Loretto Chapel, and walked around town a lot.  There are tons of cool little shops- if you are an art enthusiast, you'll love it!  And the food there is TO DIE FOR.  Green chile is pretty much the best thing that ever happened to Mexican food. :)  If you venture outside of town, Bandelier National Monument is so freakin' cool!  It's a bunch of ancient ruins and cliff dwellings- you can climb these giant ladders up to the top of some of them.  Definitely check NM out if it sounds like your thing- sooooo cool!

Yes, I grew up in NM and went to Santa Fe all the time. My brother went there for his honeymoon last April and stayed at the Eldarado Hotel. If you tell them it's your HM they will give you a discount. There are lots of tourist-y things to do, as well as mountian-y outdoors-y (sorry about all the -y's) things. Its beautiful! If you can go up the tram right outside of Albuquerque..it will blow you away! Breath taking! My FI says if we ever move back to NM the only place he will live is Santa Fe. HTH!

I lived in Albequerque when I was younger and loved it.  I've gone back a few times and it still is a great place to visit.  Ditto SummerBride, the tram is cool and there is a nice restaurant at the top.
