Anyone not getting married on Saturday or Sunday?

So I live in NJ(very exoensive) and the budget for us is small. The biggest expenses as right know for us(we're checking) are photos and catering. I found a culinary school that help undeprivileged adults with their education. They serve meals for $3.50 a person in their cafeteria. They have different menus from Monday to Friday. Problem is they are closed Saturday and Sunday. and their hours are 11am-2pm. I was thinking to talk to them to see if we can work something out, maybe will be more than $3.50 and that is fine because you cant beat their price. Also if they cant accomodate us we can work out the wedding dates(long holiday weekend?) We just need the food. We can get someone to serve and do the appetizers(or buy) ourselves. We're trying to keep things small and intimate, not easy with a huge famly.

I am cooking all of the food myself and utilizing the onsite ovens and my crockpots.

My SIL got married on a Friday and lots of people took the day off, but i know a few people did not go because of it.

We are getting married on a Friday. We have only had one person say they won't make it and that's because her baby is due around that time so she doesn't want to risk it.

I've been to a couple of Friday weddings and have enjoyed them because it becomes a 3 day celebration!

We got married on a Sunday only because in Central NJ where we got married, it was more expensive on Friday and Saturday.  We got an awesome deal for our Sunday wedding and it actually turned out to be a greater deal because Columbus Day just happened to fall on the day after our wedding.  : )

I got married on a Friday -at first we were worried that people wouldn't take days off, but I think they were happy since they still had their whole weekend off to do other things -and it was definitely less expensive ;)

I'm thinking about getting married on ... a Monday.  The venue that I'm looking at considers Monday-Thursday to be mid-week.  Bad idea?  I figure it's still a day in which people could take a three-day-weekend (it's not like most of my family doesn't do this quite often, anyways!) and it's MORE THAN 50% off of the Friday-Sunday price!  Please help!  Is this totally a bad idea?  Should I even care, as long as I know the people who matter WILL be there, regardless?
