Are bridal shows worth going to?

There is one today about an hour from my house. I have never been and my wedding is 2 1/2 months away. In your opinion was going to one useful. Did you get lot's of free stuff, or good deals? Thanks!

well, if your wedding is that close, I'm assuming you have all your vendors booked already, right?  if so, then it's not really worth it.  the things you'd possible get for free would be from contests you enter to win things from vendors.  but that doesn't matter if you already have your vendors.  also, you end up getting tons of junk emails from them and random calls telling you that you've won something - but that you have to go listen to long presentations about their products in order to claim your prizes.  it wasn't worth it for me but it might be fun to just look at stuff...

I have been to a few....sometimes they are worth it and sometimes not.  A lot of the bridal shows Ive been to, had vacations to win, so that made it worth it.  I won a few things, but nothing too big.  Check into the bridal show you plan to go to, and see what vendors are there, and maybe some of the prizes that are up to win.  Otherwise, since you are so close to your wedding, Im sure you have all of your vendors taken care of by now....so its probably not worth it.

soon2be, I would go but not enter anything. You will get a slew of emails and calls from vendors.

I think they're fun to go to just to get ideas- I ended up finding out about a trunk show for a bridal store at one of them which resulted in my dress purchase for 15% off! :)  But I have never given out my info to vendors, not worth the headache.

1) set up a "fake" email address or one specifically for this

2) take preprinted labels with your info on the, instead of filling out all those cards at each vendor's booth

I went to one and I personally think it wasn't worth it at all.  It's much better to research vendors on your own time, as there isn't that much of a selection at these shows.  I suppose it's nice to get free little goodies, but then again, you have to pay an entrance fee to get in anyway.

If you do go, though, give a fake e-mail address or an address that's not your main account.  And never give them your real phone number.  x3
