Are You And FI Taking Dance Lessons?

I was thinking about having FI take some ballroom dance classes so we can wow our guess with our fancy foot work. Is anyone else taking dance lessons?

I really wanted to until I realized that it would be a waste of time and money. Though my husband would have done it if I insisted on it, he would not have enjoyed it, which probably would make me not enjoy it.

I say if its important to you to have a special dance, and he's also into it, then go for it! ;)

We aren't having dance lessons. However, if we were having a bigger wedding reception this is something I would have loved to do!

My mum got married a few years ago - she and my step-dad took salsa dance lessons and did their first dance to 'My Baby Just Cares For Me' by Nina Simone - it was brilliant!

We had our first dance lesson last Monday and loved it.  We're learning Salsa as apparently you can use those steps in most music genres.  If you have the time and the lessons aren't too expensive I'd really recommend it as it's a great way to spend time and bond with FI!

I highly recommend it only if he is willing to do it.  My DH is great at playing the guitar and DDR (yes that dance pad game - he can pass the hardest songs with all perfects) so I thought well, this shouldn't be that hard! Nope, getting him to go dancing with me is so hard that I gave up.  The thing is, he could have been reeeeaaaallly good, and he wasn't willing to do it.  He went to 2 lessons before the wedding, which was enough for people to say our dancing was "good" but i was no where close to happy with my first dance.  So pick a short song that you can sway to if you don't have a willing FI.  Or remember that he will be this unwilling for the rest of your marriage...We have a great relationship but i wish he danced!

BTW, I still have 10 lessons left and spent $500 on the package.  We have been to 3 after the wedding.

Yes we will be, FI is not so wild about it but he is going along with me so the first dance will be really nice.

Ugh, we really, really need to. I'm a decent dancer, but FI's about as coordinated as a three legged calf in a half storm. He has no concept of the beat of music, and sort of moves awkwardly.

We're supposed to practice learning to shag at home but so far (with eight days left) he finds excuses not to. But he's the one against doing the awkward prom shuffle.

We THOUGHT about it... I cannot dance whatsoever.. I have proof in my bio :)

BUT, with money and time and stress, it just wasn't there....

I'm glad we didn't because we got to be "ourselves" on our first dance.  I didn't have to worry about the next step/move...  I just got lost in his arms :)  No, it wasn't attractive from our guest's point of view.. the "8th grade sway" (he he) but.. I didn't care anymore ;)
