As the months draw closer...

So as the months draw close to my wedding im NOT having second thoughts but there is a part of me that wonders certain things....

  • Is getting married loosing apart of my adventurous spirit?

  • Is being married mean everything now is mr. and mrs? Is there room for my individuality?

  • Does being married mean i cant have random spa days with my girlfriends or all girls vacations every again?

Dont mind me...We do start pre-marital counseling in 2 weeks but did anyoneni wonder any of the following things before you hit "I do". I have 4 months to go so i think im freaking out a bit...

It's natural to think about these things but trust me, marriage is NOT the end of your life as an individual!  I've been married for over two years now and I still belonged to dinner and book clubs post marriage, have girls' nights out several times a month with the BFF's, fly to visit one BFF in another state for the weekend without DH...  There's no reason why these things have to stop.  The only thing that should stop, obviously, is dating other men!  Ha!  Once you say I do, you don't all of a sudden become chained to your husband, forced to do all things with him.  We lived together before the wedding and once the wedding was over, nothing major changed.  We are both independent people and are secure in that.  DH was in graduate school for the first two years after we were married and he was required to travel internationally for two weeks at a time multiple times a year with both male and female colleagues.  I was totally fine with that...I went out with girl friends, took cooking classes, etc.  You NEED to maintain your "separateness" a bit in marriage...it keeps things interesting! :)
