Aug Wedding + Tent + Seating/Table Issue

Hi loves!

FI and are a doing a laid back wedding on the beach (with tent/tables on the grass area beside the beach.)

Our issue is (well a lot of things! ha!) but we're having somewhere between 80-110 guests, depending on how many fam members come from out of state.

We're not having a sit down dinner, we're doing smores, sweets and a savory "late night snack" table. We want to do couches/fun seating + some tables and chairs. But should we do a chair for every single person that RSVPs?

What size tent should we look into? Or should we try to do an outdoor one without a tent and just order a smaller tent (or 2) just in case of bad weather? (Like THIS pic from Style me pretty)

HELP!!

To be honest, I'd really like to have no tent, or just a smaller tent and have a lot more outdoor space/open air space than tents. I LOVE that look! And nothing about this wedding is formal or traditional so stuffy seating is something I'd really like to avoid!

How can we navigate the seating/tent/outdoor/couch stuff?!

Has anyone done an outdoor ceremony/reception like this before?

Your vision sounds so fun!!! I've never been to a wedding like but I think that would be really great.

Are you going to have your ceremony at the beach and then have the guests in the grassy area?  The biggest conflict I see perhaps may be weather.  Depending on if you were planning to have the ceremony on the beach and the reception on the grassy area.  If it rains *knock on wood* then do you plan to have the ceremony and reception under the tent?

I would call a few rental places and ask how they normally would set something up like that...nothing wrong with getting quotes.  Especially if it rains, what is the plan?

Yes, you will have tents but how much will it cost to have the furniture on standby?  If you have the ceremony and reception under the tent due to questionable weather where do the guests go.  If it's a sunny day, I don't think any of that will be an issue or of you have two tents.

Perhaps you could have tables with seats, couches as well as high cocktail tables since it's going to be a laid back atmosphere.  Picture below for example. Source

I'm actually visiting the in-laws so I'm going to go in and talk to the company we'd like to go with on Mon/Tues to see what they can do for us. What I've seen some weddings do is 1-2 smaller tents for food/photobooth/etc. And then all the tables and the dance floor under the stars. We're not really worried about sun since it's a fri night wedding.

Thanks SO much for the pics! Those are gorge!

That sounds great! I think it all depends on how long your ceremony is going to be as to whether everyone needs seats, or if you just want to provide chairs for those who need them (elderly etc).

As for the reception how about blankets and cushions or beanbags as additional seating with couches etc??

It sounds like it is going to be a beautiful day xx

Our ceremony is like 20 mins tops on the beach! So no seating unless necessary for the grandmothers! lol

The idea for blankets, etc is great! We're definitely thinking about borrowing/buying some more lawn-like furniture or building a few out of hay or pallets. Maybe adding in some camp chairs? We haven't exactly established how we're doing the fire and what permits may come with that. :/ yikes!

I'm really just trying to keep our day as fun, laid-back, simple and cheap as possible! lol I do not want to fuss over everything too much, just totally no my style! I'd rather spend a few extra grand on our honeymoon road tripping through Ireland and staying in Castles! ;) ha!

Just my type of wedding (literally! Ours was very low-key and I loved every second!!)

Ireland will be lovely, are you heading over to the mainland at all or just Ireland?
