Average Cost for Invitations

FI and I found a designer who is willing to create our invites. She's just starting out so we're trying to get a competitive rate. We're planning to order the whole sha-bang: rsvp cards/postage, map, reception card, main invite.

Can you ladies please share the cost of your invite? We want a number that we can start negotiations with. Thanks!

Ours were $12.50 each. I have no idea if that is high or low though. They are Crane & Co. and really nice, but nothing special, no ribbons or flashing lights or anything :-)

They are also being done by a really high end paper person (my mom just didn't want to price shop for invites, she is really over trying to find better deals at this point and it is their money, so more power to her)

wow $12.50 per invitation?  Mine are costing about $7 each if we go through that company for printing.  Ours are the envelopements.

I did mine semi-DIY and I think in total, I'm spending $5-6 per invitation... not including postage.

Ours were 100% DIY and about $2 per invite, including postage. PIB.

The price ranges I've seen have varied greatly from about $4 to $13 per invitation. There are a lot of little things that can affect the price... letterpress, thermography, the kind of paper, pocketfold or petal or whatever, ribbon, etc.

I'd go online and see what kinds of prices are available. Try to get some quotes and go from there.

Good luck!

we're getting 100 at paper source for about $400.  i'm not doing rsvp cards so that's just the cost of the 5.5" invite.

3 words - Crane & Co = spendy!!!  JHark - you lucky girl!!  ;)

ours are about $400 for 220 invites, but this includes the printing of the invite and the return address on  the envelopes...

everything else - directions, RSVP, etc is going to be done online via our wedd-site - i hotlinked the maps and there is a separate RSVP page...

our little contribution to mother earth for not using all the paper - and saves a little on postage...  yeah i'm THAT cheap!

(savings will go towards open bar)
