Back to Basics
Hi ladies I’m back again. So its been almost 7 months since I moved to go away to school. It’s been a rough but I’ve certainly learned a lot. The good news is that my FI is finally moving up to be with me in July so that he can start school too! This and the fact that the wedding right now is more drama than it’s worth, has made us decide to downsize the wedding further. We thought it would be better if this wedding were for just the two of us.
I was getting mad stressed about the guest list (that we could barely afford) and it was once again getting to the point were the wedding just wasn’t something I was looking forward to anymore. After we got into it with our parents again about the guest list I was done. I pretty much lost it and decided we were having an elopement on the spot. Naturally my FI thought I was kidding but after I cooled down and had a few days to think about it, I still felt the same way. FI was on board with that idea from the beginning so he said as long as I was sure its what I wanted he was happy with it.
That was two months ago and every day I realize the same thing more and more.We were trying to please everyone when ultimately we just wanted a quite enjoyable day to ourselves. We’d always planed to have an anniversary celebration that was styled as wedding in a few years when we can afford it anyway, so if people don’t like it…tough.
So we’ve decided now to get married either in a garden or a museum. The locations we’ve looked at so far are gorgeous and affordable.
We’ve decided that for our “reception” we’re just going to have a private catered meal with a small cake at home. I’m going to have one or two floral arrangements done and delivered to our home and decorate our dining room myself the day before. I am so incredibly excited because I LOVE decorating, and since no one will be there to see it I can decorate it exactly the way FI and I want it with no limits!
I'm so splurging on my flowers now since there's only one table to decorate lol!
Finally we’ll honeymoon at our vacation home in Orlando which is no additional cost to us, yea! There's virtually no stress with all of this and I'm on cloud 9 everyday thinking about it!
