Barn Wedding

I know this topic came up about a month or so ago but im looking into renting a barn for our vowel renewal/wedding reception.  I would also like to set up like an outdoor photobooth and make it really fun.  I know PA has a lot of Inn's and Barn spaces but can anyone make any reccomendations?  I'm looking to decorate it with chandeliers and such so a blank slate would be nice or close to one. Thanks ladies.

I LOVE barns!  I played a barn wedding (string quartet) in the Kansas City area and I WISH I could remember the name of the place!  It was gorgeous!  (although very cold)

Awesome.  I would just love to find something unique.  My other choice is by the beach ;)  I just think outdoor weddings are so romantic ;)  Besides, my parents were married outdoors so it would be a part of the "something old idea"  I have my mothers necklace that she wore and I plan to tie around my bouquet.

I love that! If we still had my grandparent's farm I would be doing that for sure!

Where in PA are you looking to get married?

In Philly there are a few old estates in the suburbs that would do. In the city their is:

Bartram's Gardens: http://www.independencevisitorcenter.com/index.php?id=100

Japanese House (but they won't do receptions): http://www.shofuso.com/

We where looking at some wineries in New Hope at first... mostly Crossing Vineyards, in Washington Crossings: http://crossingvineyards.com/ . The barrel room is awesome!!

It's really starting to bother me how indecisive I've been lately.  I think im going to have to settle for a basic reception.  I just can't take being the same.  I just have been to a lot of weddings and it's the same song and dance and it's getting old to me.  I want to be close to the city in a posh, metro atmosphere or in a private outdoor garden or barn reception but dressed up so nicely it would turn heaads....sigh.  Either way is fine but it's hard to pick.  I just want to cry ;(  sorry if im being an emotional brat (I get that a lot)

Again... I don't know where in PA you where thinking... but there are some small estate homes in Center City Philadelphia that have outdoor gardens, however they will only cater to smaller parties

Physick House

Powel House

Morris House Hotel (I love these pics)

Kimmel Center of the Preforming Arts (If you have a large party the roof is awesome)

Colonial Dames

If you are looking for something unique I would try the Fuel House, National Constitution Center, the Franklin Institute.

Also go to Party Space to check out PA sites:

Here is some more info on Colonial Dames... there was someone who had a really cute self-uniting ceremony there, but I can't find the pics. BTW, if you didn't know you can preform a self-uniting ceremony in PA
