Beauty: Some DIY Products Using Items at Home

This is some pretty neat stuff.  Also a great idea for stocking stuffers.


PEPPERMINT LIP BALM


This lip balm is super easy to make, keeps your lips moisturized and smells amazing!


1 tablespoon beeswax
1 tablespoon organic Shea butter
2 tablespoons sweet almond oil
10 drops of peppermint essential oil


Melt the beeswax, Shea butter and sweet almond oil in a bowl. Stir to mix all the ingredients properly. Once it is all melted, remove from the heat and add the peppermint oil. Transfer the mixture to a pouring spout and divide into tin jars. Let cool in the fridge for about 30 minutes.


 


LEMON-MINT FACE TONER


This face toner is a great way to revitalize your skin in the summer. Just spritz your face whenever you need a pick?me up.


1 peppermint tea bag
1 tablespoon lemon juice
1/2 cup witch hazel
1 cup hot water


Steep the peppermint tea in water for a few minutes. Allow the water to cool down and add the lemon juice and witch hazel to the mix. Store it in a glass jar or spray bottle and keep refrigerated.


 



BROWN SUGAR BODY SCRUB


This body scrub is guaranteed to make your skin silky smooth. Bonus: It only takes a few minutes to make.

1½ cup organic brown sugar
½ cup natural turbinado sugar
1 tablespoon sweet almond oil
5 drops of vanilla essential oil


Combine the brown sugar and turbinado sugar in a bowl and stir. Add the sweet almond oil to the mix so it sticks together. Start with a little bit and add more depending on the consistency you want. Next, add the vanilla essential oil to the mix and stir. This scrub is ready to use right away.


 


TOMATO FACE MASK


This mask is sure to give you a glowing complexion! It works great for tired and dehydrated skin.


½ peeled tomato
2 teaspoons ground oatmeal
2 teaspoons plain yogurt
1 teaspoon grated cucumber


Mix the ingredients in a bowl until well-combined. Put the mixture on your face and leave on for about 15 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.


 


ACNE SPOT TREATMENT


This natural antiseptic mixture is so easy to make and it really works wonders to get rid of pimples. Use daily for best results.


2 tablespoons organic honey
Cinnamon powder


Mix the honey with some cinnamon powder (enough to make a paste) Dab on your pimple and leave for about 20 minutes. Rinse off with lukewarm water.

ahh i love DIY beauty products! my biggest issue is that i NEVER have all of the ingredients "just laying around". seriously, who has beeswax and turbinado sugar in their pantry?! i dont even know what turbinado sugar is!! :) the tomato face mask seems like my most likely option.

Wow! Have you made any of these Becca? I am like Kelly, I never heard of turbinado sugar! Where would you get turbinado sugar from? I want to try the brown sugar body scrub
