Blast Bellyfat...?

I have less then two months left before my wedding. I tried on my dress Sunday, and it does not look right in the tummy area. I am wearing a sash that might hide my tummy, but i woul ljust rather get rid of it before we make the alterations...

Any good workouts, suggestions to get rid of belly fat?

i agree w/ JAB, lots of crunches!! speaking of that i've done quite a bit in the last couple of days and last night my stomach muscles were twitching and i'm in pain especially when i sneeze.

I really feel like we are what we eat...about 70% comes from what we eat and 30% is from exercise or calorie excertion.

Yes, also limit intake on salts and sugars and refined carbs and starches and give it a few weeks the belly fat will slowly melt away.

unfortunately crunches or any other ab workouts won't help much. You'll definitely build muscle but it will all be under that pesky layer of bellyfat.  the only way to get rid of that is to loss weight through cardio and diet.  Jackieg is right, you can't spot reduce. Try the turbo jam dvds.  they're really an amazing cardio workout. you burn sooo many calories and they're fun to do. (don't get them on the beachbodies website for $60. you can find them on amazon for like $12).  Good luck!!!

OK I am like a workout addict.  I am only 19 and I have already been told to stop doing so much cardio from my doctors haha. Well anyways you really should take up a dance class of some sort. I always had a little bump of tummy until I started dancing! I started belly dancing and after 2 weeks my tummy was flat as a board. I do not think running is the way to go at all. More bad than good comes with running.

i have to say i think diet matters more than anything else when you're in a crunch period like this. i would say loads of veggies and lean protein and try to eliminate any kind of processed food as much as you can ( including soda, cold cuts etc etc) i swear it really helps - good luck !! :)

Well I started running when I was younger and I love it. It is my personal favorite work-out. But last year I started to notice things around my body that were not right. After about 2 years I decided to go to a doctor becuase it would get so bad that after a short jog I couldnt walk without pain. I went to three different doctors. The first one was for my back, the second was a knee specialist, and the third was a physical therapist. When I went to them they asked me if I was a runner. They said that running is probably one of the most high impact exercises out there and that it takes a toll on your whole body. I was so scared that they were going to tell me to stop because I had heard this before. To my surprise he said "you really need to stop running" He gave me a list of reasons not to do high impact activities. They all said that running eventually takes a toll on everyones body, for some it takes 2 years and for others it takes 20.

1) The impact of the rise and fall of running will make your skin sag and wrinkle faster.

2) For women, running increases knee problems in the future because most women are "loose jointed"

3) Since running is high impact it puts a tremendous amount of strain of your back and other joints.

And many others

So I was slowly weaned off running with the help of my FI. So here I am 19 with permanent knee damage. I had to take physical therapy for 3 months and I still get a lot of knee pain. So now I do low impact cycling and belly dancing and it is great! I love cycling because I can go run errands while I work out!

You know what! My doctor actually said that the "worst worst worst" thing for your knees is inclines. He said that the knee cap has a really hard time handling the  pressure of your body weight plus the extra you get by adding a slope. Its supposed to be a cause of arthritus or something similar in the knee area. He showed me an example on a plastic knee thingy in his office and it did not look good for your knees at all! I did not know anything about that because I used to run at 6.5mph with a fairly steep incline! No wonder I am crippled haha.

OMG I absolutely hate the eliptical machine haha. Every time I see my sister I am so scared she will want to take me to the gym to do that, I hate it! I dont know how you eliptical lovers do it!!!!

Yeah everybody is different when it comes to running, but I dont think it is smart to take a chance. I have a hard time wearing heels and going out dancing because after a couple hours I am practically cippled! And I know how you ladies are with your heels :)

Oh I see those ones! Those are cool. They are a good work out as well! They have some at costco for like $700! I wanted to get one, but I knew if I put it in my house I would never get on it!

I have to stick to PILATES... i used to be a runner and play softball (played since i was 7)... when i would run i would feel pain in my knees but ignored it... i finally went to the dr and they told me to STOP RUNNING... like Sarah by dr told me that the impact was affecting my knees.  My knee caps are grinding... now i  have to go to physical theropy and i cant wear heals :( (im 5'2 and cant live without them)... So ya just stick to doing excersie in the pool or pilates.
