BM dress alteration help

Hey ladies!!

I need your opinions! I am a BM in a wedding the first week of November and my dress just came in. It fits - sort of. It zips okay and is fine through the waist... but the top through the chest and shoulders fits really funny. I can't even explain it, but it's like they made it wrong, like the cut is off or it doesn't have enough fabric. (And we only were measured and ordered these things about a month ago, so I didn't gain all sorts of weight, plus I don't gain through my boobs, that would be a good thing :p )

The other two BMs said their dresses are off too, but they don't want to ask the bridal salon about it, they don't think they will own up to it. And maybe it's not even the salon's fault... I don't know what the problem is.

MY problem is that I already paid $250 for the dress, plus $75 rush fee because the bride didn't choose a dress until the day we all ordered them a month ago. So I don't really want to pay even more in alterations...but I suppose that is my only option at this point?

Here is the dress - it's the top part, through that rouching that is the problem. It's a gorgeous dress, I want it to fit right!

Is the salon nearby? I would probably take it in and try it on in there to see what they say - maybe there's a magical technique to putting it on?!?

Ha - I should have added - she had us order from a salon near where she lives, which is 4 hours from where I live.

Do the other girls live closer to the salon? They should bring it back, try it on there and ask if that is how it is supposed to fit. I'm the alst person to make a fuss usually (i.e. I never send my plate back when my food is wrong) but as I get older I'm realizing...if I pay for this stuff...it should be done right! I know it's 4 hours away for you, so maybe if they can get back easier and the salon agrees to help...maybe it's worth it?

If I were you I would take it to a lcoal seamstress, try it on and ask how much it would be to alter without commiting. Maybe it's worth not taking an 8 hour trip.

GL!
