Book Recommendations?

Happy Monday!

Are there any breastfeeding or child development books that you recommend to read? I am a usually an Internet researcher, but need a good read to educate me on things I do not know I would need to research :)

Yes, for sure Ina May's stuff! She also has a great breastfeeding book.  I found the techniques from The Happiest Baby on the block helpful, but I recommend the DVD because it's WAAAAYY easier to see the method than to read about it I think (plus you can learn more faster).  I also love the Baby Bargains book about saving $$ with baby.

If you are into natural birthing and parenting, you might like "Gentle Birth Gentle Mothering" and "The Aware Baby."  I don't know much about the No-Cry sleep solution, but it sounds intriguing.

Caring for your Baby and Young child has super basics in it, and it's not a book you read, just more to have as a reference. :)

Looks like you have an awesome list going!

For natural childbirth, I really liked Ina May's book as well as Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way. Easier to follow than the Husband coached Childbirth book by Dr Bradley.

Right now, I'm reading the Womanly Art of Breastfeeding and loving it so far. But it also counters some of the methods introduced in the Happiest Baby on the Block, another book I enjoyed at first but now question. I suppose we'll see what works for us when LO gets here.

I also plan to read No Cry Sleep Solution and Breastfeeding Made Simple next.

I have several of the books on DansMrs's list on my list, as well. I need to get started!!

Also offering a "second" to Baby Bargains...it has been very useful for me as an absolutely clueless first time mom! I do wish I had gotten the actual book, though. I got the Kindle version and it is not very easy to go back and look up specific items.
