If you are comfortable doing so, please post your wedding budget by category.
This is my budget. There is some money being added to that though because my mom is sending us money every chance she gets.
We are trying to spend under 10K here is kind of how its broken down
$500 for flowers
$500 for cake
$200 My Dress (amazing deal)
$800 photographer (another amazing deal)
$2000 in food
Our location is actually free. We are super lucky with having amazing family friends who own the perfect venue! Those are only a few of the prices I can think of off the top of my head.
Ok, now that we have nearly final numbers, I'm revising this one. All totals are net of any resale proceeds. We made the decision not to rent anything, but instead to buy what we needed and resell after the wedding, so the net costs are what is most comparable to what others would pay for rentals. The reason that these numbers are not totally final is that we still have a few things left to sell.
Where I have left out costs, it was because we did without, or got things free. For example, our videographer was a friend who did it as her wedding present to us. The reception musician was also a friend who did it for free. For our DIY "photobooth," we used a friend rather than a professional photographer. We skipped engagement rings and a honeymoon.
$288.68 Stationery (Ceremony invitations and enclosures, reception invitations, and postage.)
$155.61 Ring (This was the cost for one of the rings. NotFroofy inherited the other one from her grandmother.)
$220.00 Hair and make-up. (Both of us had our hair and make-up done once for the ceremony, and once for the reception three days later.)
$274.98 Flowers (Bouquets, bout, and freeze-dried rose petals for the reception tables.)
$1,528.63 Attire (Two dresses, two veils, two pairs of opera gloves, two pairs of shoes, two bras, a crinoline, and Spanx.)
$566.37 Photography (Photographer for the ceremony and DIY "photo booth" at the reception)
$1,001.00 Accommodations (Hotel for us for one night to give us time to get the marriage license; rental of a big house in which all the attendees could stay for two more nights.)
$4,060.14 Ceremony (Rabbi's fee, synagogue fee, marriage license, court fees for waiver of three-day waiting period, chuppah (wedding canopy), ketubah (formal Jewish wedding contract), glass for breaking, synagogue decorations)
$2,918.74 Reception (Venue rental, food (including wedding cake and chocolate fountain), open bar, linens, plates, glasses, flatware, centerpieces, uplighting, and paper lanterns)
$0 venue (my church for ceremony and reception)
$50 marriage liscence
$300 Bride dress, shoes, accessories
$100 linens for tables and decor
$200 gifts and thank you cards
$40 flower girl attire and accessories
$120 Invitations for about 100 and personalized stamp for napkins
$0 food service (crystal fostoria and gold platters, coffee sets,
serving spoons.... all borrowed)
$240 cake and grooms cakes
$30 DECOR: 6 parasols and 9 lanterns all for hanging from ceiling
above reception tables
$400 Bride and Groom wedding rings
This is what we've calculated so far:
Ceremony Location: $300
Reception Location: $475
Ceremony Decor: $200
Caterer/Food: $0 (family caterer)
Entire party Makeup: $250
Transportation: $700 (2 limos $350 a piece for 3hrs)
Officiant: $0 (family minister)
BM bouquets: $40
Wedding bands: $200
which puts us at $3990 thus far. we'll still need to include a few things like gifts for the bridal party. But I think we're safe to say we'll fall within good range of our $5000-6000 budget.

We are actually aiming for a 15k and under budget... but if it's under 10k then that would be awesome! I am looking forward to seeing what everyone is cutting back on and splurging on, and also to receive and share ideas to cut costs!
our budget is $7500
venue- $5,0000 this includes ceremony and reception site, linens, drinks including alcohol, food, glassware, china, silverware.
flowers- mom's friend is a florist and is giving us flowers in exchange for help around her shop which my mom is doing.
dress- free this was a gift from a bridal salon owner who was giving away 100 free dresses to the brides of servicemen who are or have been deployed
photography-$850 this includes 8 hours, assistant photog, all images edited in black and white and color on a disk, rights to print anywhere we want, e-pic session.
rings- mine came in a set so we don't count that in the budget and haven't gotten his yet but I'm looking around the $300 mark
that leaves $1350 for details such as shoes and favors.
We'll most likely end up under budget but I wanted to make sure we had all bases covered.
I have to sit down and write it all :)
Mine is long but detailed in my bio
This is also in my bio, but here it is:
Our initial estimated breakdown:
Dress/Bridal Attire: $1000
Invites/Thank You's/Stationary: $500
Ceremony site/Musicians: $800
Total Budget: $7000
I got a bargain on my dress & veil--only $800. We picked up some DIY invite kits for $160. We've got a potential photographer who would be less than $1000. So we're just trying to save as much as we can where we can!
How in the world did u guys stick to ur buget?I definately need some help...
Here is my breakdown so far.
Ceremony and Reception Venue: Including food, drinks, tables, linens, chairs, valet parking, plates, silverware and wine glasses. $4000.00 for 60 guest.
Wedding Party and Parent Gifts $171.64
Guest Favors $264.74
Cake Topper $19.00
Gold Flutes and Server Set $117.68
Coordinator for Full Planning $1000
10 Hour Photography $844.46
Flowers and Decor $800
Grooms Attire $80
New Wedding Rings $600
So far we spent 9667.44 of our 10k budget. ALSO minus a $2000 gift from my mom that we didn't count towards our initial budget that leaves at 7667.44
