Bridesmaid issue- help!

So FI has three sisters.. out of those three, only one has been keeping in touch with me.. the other two has not really opened up to me or gave a chance to get to know me.. during the time i was dating their brother, i would text them to see how they were doing, didnt really get anything out of them.. when we got engaged in january of this year.. i texted them saying "hey future sis in law" and send them a pic of their brother and i with them and the engagement ring.. one said a weak "congratulations" and the other said "i see the ring, good for you"... after that i spoke to my fi about it to see what the problem was and he told me not to "mind" them...i decided to leave them alone pretty much because i dont want to torture them if they are not interested in getting to know me..

fast forward to yesterday.. i get a call from my boo (FI lol) and he told me that his youngest sister is going to text me and ask me about the wedding and also ask if she can be in it 0_o !!!! first off i told my FI like in January that i wanted at least one of the sisters, the one i am closer to to be in the wedding and he told me that she would probably want to be with her other sisters sitting and looking at everyone. so i said ok let me leave it alone and picked my girls ! i have 6 definite bridesmaids and two that said yes but they are currently out of the country (so a total of 8 bridesmaids) .. i had to really think about my answer to his sister so i told her the situation and how i didnt think they wanted to be in it but she said she does and understood my situation.

I doubt one of my cousins will be able to come to the wedding though.. I told her i will give her a definite answer later on this year..

Is it mean to not agree to have her in the wedding? :-(

i guess she figured she should be involved once their uncle and aunt came to visit and asked details about the wedding and they realized they didnt know.. that is so interesting to me though..

I don't think it is mean, your bridal party should be those nearest and dearest to you! Maybe she really wants to get close to you and sees this as a great opportunity.

Perhaps is there some other way you can be involved? This could be a great chance to lay a foundation for the lifelong relationship you will be having with the sisters. Maybe have her do a reading??

i asked her to send me the names and addresses of her family members because FI has YET to give that to me! (been asking since January). she was happy to do it and texted my FI saying she was going to do it. I am all for setting a foundation im happy to do that but i just feel like the bridesmaids part is going to be a bit tricky.. i dont feel that bad that she isnt in it to tell the truth.. i was also thinking she can come visit and help me put the centerpieces together or help us the day of and help everyone put things together.

I think the bridal party should be those you are closest to. It doesn't sound like they were interested in getting to know you before so why add her to your wedding party. I think your ideas to involve her sound great.

true that makes sense @KimandByron. I hope including her in the planning process doesnt backfire though.
