Bridesmaids??

Dumb question ok traditional islamic weddings dont have bridesmaids, but we are having a fuison of east meets west modern wedding. (at least this is the plan) so the question is what is the point of a bridesmaid? What do they do besides wear matching dresses and walk down the aisle? Is there a benefit in having them or just nice for pictures? On the fence on having bridesmaids or not.

The bridesmaids are like the support for the bride--they can help her out during the planning process, and it is usually an honor for them.  It's like the bride saying, "You mean so much to me, and I want you to stand with me on one of the biggest days of my life."  They can do as much or as little as the bride wants; some brides want them very active in the planning process, helping pick up stuff, helping with DIYs, etc., while other brides just want them there to help keep her calm.  It's completely up to you.

Also, they throw the bachlorette party. If having naked dancing men is offense to you, then perhaps you can ask them to plan something more low key, like a spa day or...i dont know what else you would do. All I know is I'm getting naked men! lmao. Good Luck! Maybe you can have them wear traditional islamic dresses..I know those are VERY pretty (and it would be SO differant!!)

It's both a mark of honor and respect that you would ask someone to stand up for you and be a bridesmaid, and then in turn they are the support system for the bride. Traditionally they were the unmarried 'maids', the friends who would vouch for the bride's virginity and integrity...now they are your go-to people to help you with all the little wedding details and just be your support when things get hard.

And yes, the dresses and the creativity you put into styling your BMs also makes for some great pictures! But above all make sure you surround yourself with girls who you want to be there for you on your day, and who are happy for you!

Oh ok. I have decided to have 6 I have five sisters but my sisters live in differnet states so I think it would be difficult for them to be bridesmaids. I will be lucky for them to coordinate travel to come to the wedding lol. I will have one of my sisters she is 1year older than me and 5 friends. I am thinking differnet color dresses shades of pink/ and orange, something chiffon with bling.
