Budget: On target? Way off? Way under?

So ladies, FI and I had a meeting with our planner today. In our meeting we got our running tally to date. We are about 10k over budget. (Yes, yikes!) and it is probably only going to continue to go up. (Double yikes!)

So that leads me to my question... Where are you with your budget?

On target? Blowing it out of the park? Or keeping it under the radar?

I'd say we are right on, actually.  I am all about organization.  If I overspent somewhere, I found something else I could cut it from or make myself.  A lot more work, but it's worth it to avoid the extra stress of money.

Ralbright..I hear you on the organization; anything we overspent on I found a way to make it up on something else.  It is totally worth the work (even if it is a PITA)!

I've gone so far over budget it's not even funny.  My goal was to do a wedding under $6K.  My "acutals" are now at $13K with and estimated $6K to go.  And we even cut the guest list down to 75 from 175.

If you are looking for an affordable yet eye catching centerpiece please contact me or viem some of my centerpieces in my bio. I understand budget! My centerpieces are under $30 each wayyyyy cheaper than then average centerpiece yet just as glitzy and glamourous for the very special day of your life. So take that money you will save with me and use it for whatever you choose!

Hope to hear from some of you "Brides to be"!!

I'm pretty much on target, though certain items have gone over and some have gone under.

We ended up contracting a videographer (read so many regret stories and thought we better do it) so that was an addition few thousand added, but I saved on my wedding dresses and decorations. That said, I get scared thinking about the day I make all my final payments - it'll be such a huge chunk out :(

MissFrazer, uh oh. Looks like you are heading for trouble my dear. Please, please, please, please get some figures on a piece of paper and start to think about it. If you don't it is VERY easy to spin out of control.

It is also good to know what the average cost is for a wedding of your size in your location. I think for what I envisioned and what we wanted to do, we really low balled it at 15k. I am glad that we have not gone much over that 10k (over) mark.

Cheers Ladies!
