Bumps in the Road on the way to wedding day

My love and I have passed each other by in our teens. We have both been through a lot and grown. Now that we are grown and are raising our children. One graduated from college and one gone through school and works to support herself. the other 2 are still school age. Now, we just got a diagnosis for our teen that she has graves disease as well as hypothyroidism. So, we have decided that we will post pone our wedding until 2014. Life will never be perfect so people just don't wait like we did to find each other and try to get it just right, because you'll waist a lot of time. Just do it already and love each other where your at. Time waits for no man.

I'm sorry you're having such hardships in your family & that you're having to postpone your wedding. It sounds like you have great perspective on what's important in life. :)  I wish you all the best in planning your wedding, and maybe this way since you're planning longer, we'll get a chance to get to know you better before your big day! <3

Thank You both for your prayers & love.  Since that time both our elder daughters have become pregnant.  Our middle daughter 24 has gotten married.  She was due to deliver her baby in January.  This Nov. 6 she had to suddenly deliver due to some complications.  We were grandparents for the first time. Keily Asley was born and passed on 30 minutes later.  Though happy for her and my new son-in-law on their new marriage is was a sad occassion for our eldest whose now feeling guilty about being pregnant and soon to deliver on Dec 10, 2013.  May God keep us & continue to pray for us.  My niece whom I have had custody of since she was 13 is now in her last year of high school and just passed her asvab test to enter the marines.  My daughter with graves & hyperthyroidism has been a champ in fighting through this, when we cry together we wipe our tears & talk out how we can be pro-active together.  She's 17 years wise and I love my baby.  I can't wait till we finally get through her medication regime to see if it will be low or medium thyroidism.  In any event I have sugguested surgery & she cried @first & said she didn't want scars on her neck & then yesterday she asked me to look @ a you-tube video of a new machine that's out that goes under the arm pit.  I was flabergasted @ how smart this child of mine is.    The Lord is Good All The time so keep praying for us I appreciate your reading my comments and taking time out to respond. Thank you all.

Gosh... I'm so sorry for this devastation going on in your life! You and your family are in my thoughts and prayers! You will overcome this! You already seem to be focusing on the positives and that is pretty fantastic!

sorry to hear about your recent problems.  i will keep you and your family in my prayers,

as for your daughter's health issue, i can offer a unique perspective.  i myself have hashimotos diesease which is a form of hypothyroidism.  but i use to work where there was a lady with graves disease.  she didnt find out about it until it was too late.  her eyes were bulding so badly that she couldnt close her eyelids.  i know someone else who had graves disease and had radiation to kill her thyroid which made her hypothyroid and she is fine with thyroid meds.  the key is that it looks like the drs discovered your daughters case early enough to prevent a lot of complications that can come from the disease.  if you want to talk more feel free to join my hypothyroidism support group on here.
