Can I join you?!

Hi all! Got my BFP on Monday (and then Tuesday, and today... I'm thorough! lol), so thought I'd pop in to say HI officially. :) So excited to join the 2013 baby bump ladies!

2 initial questions (I'm sure I'll have about 19310 more):

1. When did you share the news? We're planning to tell our parents this weekend (on Easter!) and then the goal is to tell our closest friends and family after our first doctor appt, which is April 17th. However, some girlfriends know that we were trying (because they are too) so not sure what to say when they inevitably ask how things are going.

2. Do you have a pregnancy journal that you've been using that you really like? I'd like to start one soon.

Thanks!!!

First off Welcome and Congratulations!!!  H&H 9 Months to you!

To answer your questions:

1. My DH and I didn't tell anyone (other than parents) until we were into our 2nd trimester.  We lost our first LO to a MC so we were hesitant to share so quickly and the only reason our parents found out before the 2nd trimester is because we thought we were having complications again as well.

2. I have a book called "The Belly Book" and I really like it.  I'm not a scrapbooker type of person or a writer by any means but this asks basic questions and has spaces for pictures of your belly each month.  For me it is enough to get me to write down things that happen that I want to remember.

Thank you, AuntTate! Very understandable not wanting to tell anyone until the 2nd trimester... I know the risks are high and that's why I'm hesitant, as well. The Belly Book sounds great - I'm going to look into it! Thanks!!

We told siblings & parents after a few short days. Then I told my 2 BFF's also at around 8 weeks. We ended up keeping it quiet till the 2nd Trimester from everyone else, but also didnt mind if the word got passed around our circle of friends either. I still havent posted anything on Facebook, I probably wont until its unavoidable (pictures or parties).

I really try writing in a journal :( I have made just 2 entrys... I should make that a priority... Its hard, when you are SO tired & sick to keep up with it. But I am sure now that I am in the 2nd trimester, the pregnancy will be more enjoyable & eventful to have stuff to write about!

Congrats!!!!

Welcome and congrats on your BFP! We're glad to have you join us. To answer your questions, 1. We told our families a little over a week after we found out, and unfortunately they both couldn't keep their mouths shut so pretty much everyone knew shortly after that thanks to Facebook.. lol so just make sure that whoever you want to know keeps it quiet until you guys are ready to share it with the rest of the world. 2. I don't have a physical journal to write in, but I have been journaling in a draft saved in my gmail account. I haven't updated it in a while so thanks for reminding me about that! haha I plan to do something with it eventually and also adding my bump progression pics to it. It really is cool to get this stuff down for you to read later!

Yay, thanks girls! Great info! I'm hell bent on not telling "the world" until after the first tri but I just don't think it will be possible for us not to share with closest friends and family, as many already knew we were trying (because they are/were too so we'd talk about it)...and now they're wondering how things are going! I'd really like to at least wait until about the 8 week mark, but we'll see. Murph - even though you didn't get to tell your family how you wanted to, the reactions is really the best part! And it sounds like you had great ones! :)

So understandable that it ends up being difficult to keep a journal, especially with having MS and being exhausted... I'm sure I'll be asking myself what I was thinking in a few weeks!! Definitely going to look into the one AuntTate suggested. :)

Congrats and welcome, Jenny!! I saw your post in the TTC group and was hoping you would join us soon :-) We told our parents at about 6 weeks and then my bestie around 8 weeks, since she was also trying and had been keeping up with our journey. Everyone else was told at the end of our first tri. I haven't been keeping up with my journal, either. I also keep a draft in my email to update my blog, but I haven't had time to do that! But I do take weekly photos and track my symptoms. I'm planning to make a photo book documenting the pregnancy. Mixbook and Snapfish have some super cute options!

Wooohoooo Jenny!!  Welcome :)

I told my parents the day we got our BFP.  I have medical problems and just wanted them to know asap.  The only other person who knows is my brother because he was worrying about me about a month ago!  Other than that we're planning on announcing after our 12 week scan - including DH's parents - we've not told them yet as we don't have a great relationship with them.  It's super tough not telling my besties though.  But having you guys on PW to talk to is a HUGE relief!

I wanted to keep a journal but haven't in the end - I'm taking weekly photos of my tummy and scanning in all the scans etc.

Congrats and welcome to the group! H&H 9 months to you!

We only told immediate family right away and waited until our 12 week ultrasound to announce it to the world. LOL I wanted to hear the heartbeat before jumping the gun.

I  have been writing in the Belly Book and I follow the Pregnancy Journal as well
