Candy buffet...worth it?

FI is on the fence about the candy buffet idea. To those who have had one or have been to a wedding where there was one...was it worth it? FI is concerned with most of the 30+ crowd passing it up and only about 20% of the wedding actually filling up a bag of goodies. I keep telling him that it's ok with me if nobody takes candy. After all, it will be after the wedding so I don't have to worry about fitting a dress and I can eat it all myself (I LOVE candy)!

I've been to weddings with them but we're not doing one. Largely because if its a DW its difficult to transport gobs of candy and their containers. That being said, the weddings I've attended that had them were great! I saw all ages scooping candy. It was a nice thing for the sweet tooth for those that don't like cake. I also saw that if people were not taking it for themselves, they were "taking it for their children," however I saw them eating it 15 min later ;)

the weddings i've been to that have had a candy buffet - they were a big hit... for presentation purposes, however, you will probably need more than what guests will take - but if you're cool with all the leftover candy - then go for it!

we just had a candy buffet at our wedding last weekend. we were quite amazed at how many people ate the candy. we actually had a lot left over even after the staff at our wedding venue kept refilling. it really made a statement with color and was an cost effective favor. Hope this helps.
