Candy Only Buffet or Dessert Bar?

Having a Candy Buffet has always been a detail of my wedding. We were going to use this as our party favor at the end of the night for guests to take with them. I've seen many postings where people forget about it and end up leaving without touching the candy therefore you have tons of candy left and an expense that wasn't used. We are doing the individual cakes instead of your normal tiered cakes anyway.

I know I am adding cupcakes and cookies to my candy buffet. I am wondering if I should add other desserts and make this a candy/dessert buffet and allow guests to eat things from it prior to the end of the night?

What do you think? As a guest what would you like? I plan to get together with family and friends and make the cupcakes and cookies myself a couple days prior to the wedding. If I am going to do other desserts I have a cousin that works for a catering company that would be more than happy to help make pies or anything else I wanted.

I like the idea of a dessert bar. If You wanted to add something I would say pie. You could make little pies like this in a muffin tin.

I like the idea photo 3476115-1

but it really depends on how many guests your having. I think what you have is fine.

I love the idea of combining the 2!

My sister and I on Friday night are a perfect example for you - we went to a fundraiser (the one with the cute CPs) and they had a fruit bar, candy bar and decorate your cake station. My sister made a beeline for the candy bar and I set up camp at the cake station!
We picked at the fruit to ease our guilt, but the candy & cake idea was amazing!!

I'd combine it and definately put it all out before end of night. Maybe even have the DJ make an anouncement to remind people to get stuff.

I would perfer a dessert bar, but combining them would be a great idea too! Then there would be options for your guests.
