what size boxes did you use an how did you get the slit in it for cards it seems like it be hard to cut into any advice
I used a box cutter (or you could used an exacto knife) to cut the hole, just be careful you want to outline what you want to cut, then go slow and press down HARD to cut through the box.
yep, i used a box cutter and measure and drew out all the lines first so i was sure that i was cutting where i wanted to. and take your time, thats the biggest thing, dont rush it.
also, i purchased a 5-piece stacking box set (they were square). it included 8", 9", 10", 12" and 14" boxes. I *believe* i used the 10, 12, and 14 inch boxes, although id have to measure again to be sure. i may have use the 8, 10, and 12 or 14, im not positive, that was why i wanted the 5-set though, so i could stack and restack them to see what sizing and proportion i liked best visually.
Check out my bio for instructions. It was super easy to do.
rkrupan, Thank you for those awesome instructions in your bio! :)
I used an exacto knife and I got my boxes from michaels. I used their largest cylindar box for my base and then smaller ones (also from Michaels)
what section at michaels are you finding these boxes, im tired of the sales people looking at me like im on crack when I talk about a wedding gift card box...lol
i ended up get mine online
ask for paper mache boxes... usually near the wood section.
One store here didn't have any, but the other onehad a set of 3 for $3!
make a mark using an exacto knife before using the actual cutter..be sure not to press to much so not to cut the section on ends.
