**CassandraJL's wedding RECAP! Finally**
So its been 10 days since the wedding (July 11), but its been crazy around here so I'm finally posting my recap now.
Be forewarned: its LONG. I graduated in journalism and I work as a reporter- I write. thats what I do. If you choose not to read it all, I wont be offended. i'm just so excited and where else can I share!? ;) Feel free to scroll through just to the pictures!- they're on both pages.
Weeks leading up to the wedding: DH’s parents and aunt and uncle and two groomsmen came to the US for the first time. They stayed with us at my parents' 2-bedroom house. DH and I slept on an air mattress, as did my parents, so his aunt and unlce and mom and dad could sleep in beds.
Rehearsal dinner (the Friday before the Sunday wedding): Ended up going with American themed- since it was most of the gutests first time in America and it was right after 4th of July so décor was cheap and easy to find, lol. I got teary when walking down the aisle with my dad. Gave everyone our gifts– everyone loved them, made us feel pretty good. Only thing missing was that the pastor couldn’t be there cause he didn't arrive until the next day- he flew in from New York to officiate the wedding.
Day before the wedding: we had an hour –ONE HOUR- to set up at the reception hall. The guys built the photobooth right then and there and we set up the best we could with decorations, centerpieces, bar things, etc. Night before the wedding: The pastor came in from new york. My parents picked him up from the airport and drove him to the hotel because DH and I were tending to other things. So we took the pastor out to eat for dinner so he could get to know Matthias and catch up with us- I haven’t seen him since I was 13 years old. As wonderful as Pastor John is, he’s eccentric and talks A LOT, lol. So our dinner lasted- ohhh, two hours longer than planned. After the dinner, we went back to his hotel room to go over the ceremony in detail since he wasn’t able to make it to the rehearsal/ dinner. After going over all that, he realized he had forgotten to bring dress shoes. Soo, it as 10 pm at this point (we had wanted to be in bed by 9) and we had to bring him all the way back to my parents house where he tried on DH and my dad and FIL’s shoes till he found a pair that would work for him. He stayed for a while (remember- he likes to talk) and then we had to bring him back to the hotel. DH and I didn’t get home until 11:30 and we were EXHUASTED but we still had the print the programs (couldn’t finalize that until the ceremony was finalized with the pastor). So we were up till about 1 am doing that- and still weren’t done so we decided to finish early in the AM.
