Ceremony timeline help

Here's what I was thinking as a general timeline for our ceremony timeline:

4:00 Guests arrive, background music plays
4:10 processional
4:20 Opening statements
4:25 Vows
4:30 Wine Ceremony
4:35 Prayer/benediction
4:40 Kiss/announce
4:42 Recessional

Do you think we should have a reading? It seems like a lot of talking for the pastor to do. But at the same time we want to keep it short and sweet, and we can't think of a good verse to read.

Any tips?

I think it looks good! As long as your guest are there and you start on time, I bet it will be done a little sooner- seeing that you gave everything about 5 minutes...

Do you want a reading? If you TWO do then go for it- it only happens once!

I think a reading would be nice, but am totally lost for what reading to have. I've looked online for common readings, but don't like many that I have found. It's also just another thing for me to do! hehe

I agree - it looks good. Sad to say, but I get really bored/tired when the wedding ceremony is long. I've been to a ceremony that was like 1.5 hours. Short simple is sweet.

I think the ceremony will take less time than you think. Ours went by so fast and we had planned on 25 minutes - it took 15! But we started about 10-15 minutes late so it all worked out perfectly.

I agree with smilkova... I think you are giving yourself more than enough time. Do you already have your ceremony written out? Have you done a timed reading to see how long it would take? We planned ours to be about 20 mins, then at the last min I was told that it would take a little longer, so we started our ceremony early (I know that is a shocker, but everyone was there and we were all set to go). It ended up running about 25 mins and we got both compliments on the length and the content. Oh, and we had 2 readings in there as well. If you want a reading go for it, you aren't going to get to do it again.
