HELP!!! Cheap Wall Drapery... Suggestions?

Hello! I am getting married on March 6th 2014. I have a beautiful venue but I am using it as both the ceremony and reception space. It's a large room and we are splitting it in half (one side for the ceremony and one side for reception). But I want a wall of fabric inbetween the two areas so that the reception area is not visible from the ceremony side. I want a two-room feel. But the venue will charge me an arm and leg to use their fabric and have them hang it. I don't have an enormous budget! What should I use? I thought about tulle since it is cheap, but it is see through.... Open to ideas!

I'm not sure the theme/feel you want for your wedding, but what about something like this?  It will take a lot of work but be such a show stopper - you can make the flowers out of paper/fabric.

http://thelittlecanopy.com/artsy-wedding/artsy-wedding-decorations/diy-how-to-make-paper-flowers-tutorials

I know it would be one whole wall, instead of just a little section, but it may be budget friendly, just a pain in the butt :)

Otherwise, check your local fabric stores on Black Friday/Cyber Monday - Surprisingly, you can find fabric for pretty cheap!

Those are both pretty ideas! My wedding has a rustic/woodsy/country feel to it. And the wall is 30ft.... So I'm afraid the flower wall would be a bit much! It is really pretty though (:

If you have an Ikea near you they usually sell curtains for under $5. You can buy fabric from  stumps party its around $60 for like 20 yards and they have different patterns and desgins and colors heres a few from their site

Black Metallic Eyelash FabricBlue Iridescent Sparkle FabricBlue Iridescent Chiffon

I think Koyal wholesale has fabric also. Have you looked on pinterest for ideas?

Also do asearch for fabric wholesale or something like that and sometimes you can find a deal from there. I live near San Francisco and there is a big fabric warehouse there where you can get fabric for pretty cheap. Maybe there is something like that near where you live.  hope this helps.

If you're going for a rustic feel, you can search around goodwills or thrift stores for old sheets, and tear or cut strips similar to zeuster a ribbon picture. Not sure what you could use to hang them...a 30ft rope maybe? I think that'd be awesome!!

I think Hobby Lobby has fabric there...with the holiday season they may have a really good sale going on.  I know right now they have 80% off thanksgiving items and 50% of christmas decor.  See if you can find anything in there.

This is not a fabric idea and it will require some muscle and a truck. But have you thought about making a few screens with old doors. You could check with a local contractor, might be able to even get them free if you find someone doing a remodel job. Some paint maybe and sand them for for that weathered look and some cheap hinges would be super cute. Probably need eight to ten doors. Could use spray paint or mismixed colors from the hardware store. Three people and a day or two should get the job done. You could probably do it for $50-$100 easily. It would be some work but it could look good. Just a thought.

Oh that would be super cute, foxieangel130! What a fabulous idea! I would actually really love that. I'm just wondering how we'd get that into the venue....

Have you looked on the classifieds(on this site) craigslist,  freecycle, or weebly. there are lots of other websites where brides sell their gently used wedding things.

Check out 10ft and 12ft photography backdrops. You can find them fairly cheap bundled with white fabric on amazon. Afterwards you can sell them back on amazon. Can safety pin or pin on elements to dress up the white fabric but it'll give you that expensive pipe and drape look for a lot less.
