Whoa... Posting out of my control!! LOL

Ceremony/Reception:  Radisson Hotel in Schaumburg. Veronica is helpful with the "budget" brides...  We cut our plates down $10/per!!

Photography:  Talked with George Street and seemed like a great company.  But, we want to *meet* our photographer before our wedding and that wasn't feasible.

Clark Photo/ABC Photography (yes they have 2 names) we booked with but now are going back on what they offered us...  STAY AWAY!!  They are located in Buffalo Grove.

Reverend:  Jim Rehnberg.  RENT-A-REV!!  He's so hilarious and laid back.. We definitely "splurged" on him :)

Went to good ol'David's Bridal in Schaumburg.  First experience wasn't the greatest... My sales woman wasn't so friendly... Maybe she was just having a bad day?  Since then, she has been great.

House of Brides in Schaumburg... Our sales lady was great the first time, and then the 2nd time around told us we *needed* to order the dresses for the BM's now (I only had one with me)...  And said that she "couldn't save the measurments' unless you buy now...  We called and complained after we left and requested for a new sales woman.  Boss also told me that you "could" save measurements without placing the order... Hmmm... ;)

Our florist is my brother's g/f... And my cake maker is my sister.  So that's nice.  That's all the vendors I have so far.

Re-looking for a photographer now :)

I'm not from Chicago but my MUA is from there (well, originally from Detroit, now in Chicago).  She's coming out to Detroit and giving me a free trial (which I believe is her policy for area brides too so it's worth it to at least check her out).  Her name is Lillian and here's her info: http://www.StarlightChicago.com. You can let her know that Lina (from Detroit) referred you. Not too many people do free consults so thought I'd share :)

Also, her husband does photography and I think there might be some kind of deal if you book them both together...not sure about that though.  His website is www.emotia.com.

Ceremony/Reception: Oak Brook Bath and Tennis Club - so far so good.  The venue is very natural and the gal I've been working with is super fast at responding.  They're pretty flexible in terms of their rules as well.  The only negative I've found so far is that they've increased their 2009 prices by about $20 a person.  I booked in 2008 and wasn't able to lock in the prices (only the minimum) so I am afraid of what will happen to their prices in 2010.  Supposedly they try to honor pricing a year out though, so I'm hoping they keep their word considering it wasn't officially in writing.

Other venues I looked at:

  • The Riviera in Lake Geneva - The venue is amazing in photographs.  But when you get there, it's a little bit more worn out than you would expect.  Since Lake Geneva is a tourist town, parking is a bear, and The Riviera doesn't have on site parking, so guests will have to do some walking.  You can bring in your own caterer, but are required to use their staff for security.  And all of the little things quickly build up the initial cost of renting the facility (security, set up time, tear down time).

  • Thunderhawk Golf Club in Beach Park - Also a nice looking venue in photographs.  But the area where the ceremony would take place has a little more to be desired.  The inside reception area has really low drop ceilings - as in I'm only 4'11 and felt a little claustrophobic (although there is one area with cathedral ceilings that's in the center of the room).  The staff there is super friendly and helpful though, and their prices are unbeatable.

  • Highland Park Community House - My sister had her wedding reception there 7 years ago and it's still as lovely as it was back then.  You can bring your own caterers in, as well as your own alcohol.  The reason I didn't choose this venue was because I wanted to have something different than my sister, but still really like it.

Photographer: Theresa Scarborough. I found her on PW!  She's pretty affordable, and very flexible.  Her work is fantastic.

Bridal Attire: I tried dresses on at David's Bridal in Vernon Hills.  The service was decent, and they had a pretty good selection of dresses.  I also went to another little shop to try on dresses and that's where I found my inspiration dress (my mom is making it).  I can't remember what it's called for the life of me, but it's in Arlington Heights on Algonquin Road.

DJ: Don Kaminsky from XL Entertainment.  I found him off of the local Knot boards.  He is super personable, and not your typical cheesy DJ.  So far, he's fantastic.

Reception: Wyndham Hotel in Glenview IL. They have a 10% discount for our wedding month, and had great packages. The catering manager is really nice. Takes a bit to return emails, but my wedding is still 5.5 months away. Recently went and picked out linens and  she had various options set up and is very accomadating. We did a ini food tasting to see if we even liked the food before we booked and it was delicious.

Cake: Rolf's Patessrie in Lincolnwood. Beautiful and fun cake design choices and the various types of cakes are yummy.

House of Brides in Schaumberg for bridesmaid dresses. They came in as expected. But the customer service is terrible. Many were rude, half the time they couldn't find me in the computer, one lady was putting in the flower girls dress as white and periwinkle when it should have been ivory and chocolate. everything worked out, but I felt like I had to overly lie about our wedding date to ensure that there was enough time to fix any mistakes that I felt would happen.

Eva's Bridal for my dress. Ordered Jan 3rd and still havent recieved it yet. Not sure if this is a normal wait time, but I'm getting impatient. ;)

Flowers: www.weddingflowerlady.com  My stepmother recommended her. She does it out of her home. Worked to lower her prices so it fit what we wanted. I can't wait to see my bouquet!!

Dj: SoundAbounds. Got a package and I think we might at the photobooth, but only if we get a discount. It was  around $2200 for blue uplighting throughout the reception area, additional speakers in the reception area,Additional lighting (not sure what this entails) added speakers in the atrium for cocktail hour, choice of DJ and assistant. 6 hours of music.

Essence Photography: they have tons of album packages, I loved that we only had to pay a 800$ deposit and don't pay anymore until after the wedding and when we recieve pro-proofs. One of te packages we are considering is $1600, but since we will have gift money, I think we might upgrade it some more. I am pretty sure they bank on that as well. ;)

Thats all we have planned for now.

Ok Here are mine. Post 1 of 4

Grade A++ through F with A++ being a beyond requested/expected service. $ is budget friendly $$ is average cost $$$ is pricey

Dress - Evas Bridal on Harlem(773 777 3311), A

I Went to Evas after I called them and asked if they had the Sophia Tolli Dress I wanted. I went in tried the dress on and put down a deposit. Dress came in 2 months early. I didn't have any problems or issues with Evas but I can't comment on how the experience would have been had I needed to try on a lot of gowns.

My dress is by Sophia Tolli and the design name is Skye. Sophia Tolli really knows how to design for women. The dress huged me in all the right places!

Alterations - The Dress Doctor (http://www.dressdoctor.com/) A, $$$

Because I got a great deal on my dress I figured I could splurge a little on alterations. Everyone at The Dress Doctor was very nice and accomodating. I work with both Sohelia and Giselle and found them both to be excellent in the craft. I fell in love with my dress all over again after I saw what they did with it! One note is I do not recommend having your fitting on a Saturday. My last fitting was on a Saturday and not only I had to wait 30 minutes after my original appointment time, I felt rushed. As far as their craft I highly recommend and would use them again.

Dress Cleaning/Press - Davis Imperial (http://www.davisimperial.com/) A, $$

The Dress Doctor recommended Davis Imperial to get my dress pressed. They picked up the dress from The Dress doctor and delivered it to my home beautifully packaged. They called to set up payment (got $$ off for using them through the dress doctor) and when the dress would be delivered. The day the delivery was due (by noon) I received a call saying they would be a little late (about 15 minutes). They didn't get to my house until sometime after 1. I didn't care too much since I was at home but if I had somewhere to go this would have been a problem. Despite that I still highly recommend them and would use them again. My dress looked fresh and beautiful. They even gave me a care kit that included a stain remover, thread and needles, extra sequence/beads in case of any mishaps.

Tuxes - Mens wearhouse [ Harlem and Irving Park Store] (http://www.menswearhouse.com) A-/B+, $$

We used Men's Wearhouse and were satisfied but here are a couple of things that happened. I called and asked them if we needed an appointment, NO, so off we went. We get there and someone is getting a tux for prom. We sat around for about 35 minutes until the lady was done to do the fitting for Dwayne. Luckily the manager saw we were annoyed and brought the samples and books for us to look at while we waited. We went with a Calvin Klein Suit, white vest/tie for Dwayne and pool color for guys. When tuxes came in all the guys got a call to pick them up. Dwayne tried his pants, jacket, shirt and vest, all fit perfectly. Day of D noticed the tie had a smudge on it. Luckily my mom got it out but I wish they would have inspected it before giving it to him...as they promised they do. We still recommend them but check everything and make sure everything is CLEAN. D's tux was free since 4 guys got theirs there too.

DOC - Amy Vaught from Vaught Events (http://vaughtevents.com/) A+, $$

Amy was great to work with and I was really happy with her services and glad we spent the money on a  DOC.

Amy came up with a timeline, was at rehearsal and all day with us the day of the wedding, she coordinated the ceremony, oversaw setups at reception, cleaned up, packaged and delivered our gifts, card box and some decor to our home at the end of the night, she brought the top tier of the cake (which I totally forgot about) and put it in the freezer!

She made sure we were being taken care of, ran interference with vendors, paid the vendors, made sure the guests were taken care of, assisted with cake cutting etc etc. When the candy buffet ran out she moved some take out containers to the sweet table so that guests could take that home too.

I've got several compliments on Amys professionalism during the wedding. She was an absolute pleasure but also was on top of her game and did what she needed to get the job done.

I highly recommend Amy, I was able to enjoy my day without a care in the world... she took care of everything!

Florist - Teresa M. Flowers for all occassions (aseret6591@yahoo.com) A++

Although this is my aunt I told her I would review her like all my other vendors. This was one of my favorite things for the wedding, flowers really made my day beautiful. Whatever I imagined was that and more. The centerpieces that I've been dreaming off came out so much better than I wanted them to be. My bouquet was breath taking and the girls bouquets were so chic and stylish I wanted to keep them all to myself. My aunt went above and beyond to make me happy with the flowers. I had callas for my bouquet, a mix of black callas and carnations for the girls, and french tulips for the centerpieces. The callas for my bouquet were so fresh, 6 days after my wedding they still looked beautiful! My aunt has been doing flowers for more years than I have been alive. Her creativity is amazing! If you want beautiful creative flowers and are on a budget call my aunt! Recommend!

DJ - DJ Roc A++

My husband's job was to get us a DJ....and while I was a little nervous....not only we were having an ethnically and culturally diverse reception, there were several of different generations to keep happy. This was perhaps one of my favorite vendors. I was beyond happy with everything. He was on time, set up  looked so professional! He came with an assistant. We made a playlist particularly for the cocktail hour and dinner and gave him a list of all important songs. I was so impressed he found all the music we requested, especially since we have a pretty eclectic taste in music. People were raving about the music saying it was one of the best DJs they have ever heard at a wedding. We didnt have ANY typical wedding music, there was no sweet caroline, no YMCA, no shout no last dance no electric slide. The atmosphere was more of a cool lounge that after dinner turned to a top 40/80s/hip hop club. My sister literally danced the entire night. We danced soooo sooo much. DJ Roc was professional, accomodating! My mom and her friends wanted some Polish music, my cousin brough the CD and DJ Roc mixed the Polish sounds in with what we wanted. The transitions were fantastic. Even our photographer commented on how amazing the DJ was! This is definitely not a typical wedding DJ. I highly recommend!!! Please contact me for info.

Photographer Engagement Photos - Becky Hill (http://beckyhillweddings.com/) A++, Photos A++, $$

I was a fan of Beckys work before we booked her for our May 09 wedding and Engagement Session.

Our Engagement session was amazing. We did our shoot at Millenium Park in Chicago. Becky knew all the spots to take great photos. I was beyond impressed with her knowledge of lighting, motion shooting, portraits and most of all capturing candid moment between my fiance and me.

When we received our photo DVD I couldn't stop looking at them. Immediatelly I ordered photos to give out as gifts for my shower, some to put up at the wedding, made a guest book etc etc. We received so many compliments of the photos that were displayed at our house and our reception. My aunt can't stop gushing about the photo I sent as a thank you for coming to the shower. Becky captured our true fun loving nature. It was amazingly easy working with Becky, she made us fee at ease and we hit it off from the start. Highly Recommend.

Photographer Wedding - Becky Hill (http://beckyhillweddings.com/) A++, Photos grade pending, $$$

When our wedding day rolled around I was beyond extatic to work with Becky again. She came EARLY and ready to work. She shot me getting ready, coming out of the house, in the limo...during the ceremony Becky and her assistant were quiet and professional. After the ceremony she captured all the poses I requested including a big group shot with all of our guests! She directed our guests and us and was very efficient and timely. The photo shoot at the park got sooo creative! Becky is very aware of her surroundings and uses all opportunities for photo ops.

At our reception both her and the assistant were working non-stop...before they left Becky told my husband and I she scoped out a cool brick wall that would make for some great night shots. Right there we had a mini photo shoot! It was soo amazing.

I can't wait to see our wedding photos. One of my favorite vendors to work with!!!

Videographer - Ling from Indie Fusion Films (http://www.wedding.indiefusionfilms.com/) A+, Video grade pending, $

We found Ling on Craigslist and after meeting with her decided to hire her. Ling was very professional. She was early and worked the entire time she was with us. Even during dinner she got up several times to film the guests. Once we get video, full review will follow.

Hair - Livia Caporale ((773) 386-2699) A++, $$$

I can't even describe how happy I was with my hair for my wedding. I had a trial with Livia and loved it but after the trial I decided to change the do a little. Day of Livia was on time and ready to work. She did 4 bridesmaids, my moms and my hair. When she finished with my hair I was in awe. Perfect vintage do! I got soooooo many compliments on my hair, everyone said I looked like a vinage movie star or someone out of a magazine, which naturally made me feel so good. I honestly didnt want to take it down. My mom who usually hates when the salon does her hair after a cut LOVED her big hair and bridesmaids expecially my sister were sooo happy and looked so beautiful. My sister also had a vintage-ish do and it was amazing. One of my bridesmaids had dread locks and Livia pinned them up soooooo stylishly! Everyone raved about our hair.

Livia delivered much more than I expected and I honestly felt amazing because of her. I can't recommend her enough. My hair was beyond beautiful because of her. I wish I could have her do my hair all the time!

HIGHLY recommend. This is money more than well spent. The compliments you'll receive will be worth it!

Makeup - Sonia Roselli (http://www.soniaroselliweddings.com/) A++, $$$

I have had my makeup done by Sonia 3 times now and each time I couldn't believe her talent. I love Sonia and it really was amazing having her be a part of my day. I was so happy with my makeup. I had mile long lashes!!!! I was in love with my lashes and received soo many compliments on my makeup and eyes! My mom for the first time ever got her makeup done by a professional and had eyelashes put on as well and all her friends were jealous. My husbands sisters also had their makeup done for the first time and loved the way they looked. All the girls looked beautiful and fresh. Sonia knew exactly what to do for each girl to make her beautiful and unique.
Makeup lasted through dancing all night long!

I felt soo amazing on my wedding day.

Sonia kindly gave me the lipstick and gloss she used on me so I could reapply during the wedding...not only did I reapply during the wedding I used the gloss everyday on my honeymoon. She picked the most perfect color for my skin. I received many compliments on my lipgloss on Honeymoon.

Highly recommend. Definitely worth every penny!

Limo - Luxus Limo (http://www.luxuslimos.com/) A,

Once I found Luxus I was extremely happy I did. Not only the price was right they were super accomodating and professional. I waited until the last minute to book the limo not realizing wedding and prom season is in full swing. We ended up getting a 16 passenger Infinity Limo from Luxus. The driver was 5 minutes early. He opened the door and help all the girls in. Limo was VERY clean and nicely decorated in white and black (they asked for my colors). Cold beverages were set up and nice music was playing. The limo is equipped with TVs and CD player (we didnt utilize). When we went to the park while we made our way through the park he drove and met us at the opposite entrance. Driver was very knowledgable of the city and where to go. Before deparing after dropping us off at reception he checked to make sure noone forgot anything. Highly recommend.

Reception - Lido Banquets (http://lidobanquets.com/) A++,

I can't be any more happy that we went with Lido. Lido is a Polish banquet hall known for great service and amazing food and boy oh boy did they deliver!

From the time we met Peter, the owner, we knew we were in good hands. He was knowledgable, accomodating, helpful and always available to answer any questions we had. We made our own package that included, champage greeting, hor doeurves, linens, chair sashes, silverware, sweet table, cake, 7 course dinner, late night snack, wine on all tables and open bar.

Peter called me the week of the wedding to confirm the cake, menu and guest count. We went and dropped some boxes off for set up. Peter said they can set up whatever we want. I had some linens I bought, and of course all the decor. By the time DOC got to reception Lido did all the set ups including centerpieces in an effort to help my aunt the florist make the ceremony on time. Everything looked beautiful and just the way I wanted it to look. With DOC's supervision my dream set ups came true. Food was amazing. We had lemon butter chicken that everyone LOVED, beef au jus, vesuvio potatos that were to die for and I ate a lot of, russian pierogi, salad, soup, cucumbers with sour cream and dill and green beans almondine. Our guests raved about the hor deourves that consisted of rolled sandwiches, chichen fingers (YUMO) and super fresh bruschetta. There were drinks and champage on all tables. After dinner they set up the "sweedish table" consisting of the sweet table and late night snack which included various salads, meats, breads, fruit, veggies and dip.

They packed leftover fruit and sweet table for us to take home, which was a great snack Sunday morning before we left for our mini moon. The staff was amazing and the head  waitress went above and beyond to make us happy, fetching whatever we requested. I felt taken care of and my guests raved about food, decor and service. The bar tender was super sweet and made drinks FAST!

One of the things I was most excited about and people are still raving about was the cake and cake set up. Lido works with the amazing Oakmill bakery where we got to pick the cake we wanted. Lido set the cake in front of the head table and it looked amazing.

I highly recommend them and would use them for another event in a heart beat!!!

Cake - Oakmill Bakery (http://oakmillbakery.com/) A++

There's no secret I love Oakmill Bakery and was very excited for our cake! The cake was BEAUTIFUL and everyone raved how chic and stylish it was. Once we cut the cake I fed D first and then he gave me a bite....the cake was omg sooo amazing, moist and just sweet enough, smelled sooo chocolately...I grabed the fork and put another fork full in my mouth LOL Seriously I can't wait to dig into our top tier! During the reception it was the only thing I finished off my plate! Highly Recommend.

Post 4 of 4 photo 609769-1

Sweet Table - Oakmill Bakery A++

I made sure to ask someone to pack me a container of at least one of the sweets. I'm greedy when it comes to chocolate covered strawberries and they made sure I had a whole container to take home. Everything was delicious, the fruit cups, tiramisu bites, all little cakes, cookies and pastries delish! Lido packed whatever was left for us to take home and we enjoyed it Sunday morning. Highly Recommend.

Ceremony - St. Ferdinand Church (http://www.saintferdinand.org) A+, $$

I was a little nervous about how the "catholic marrying non-catholic" was going to go over at St. Ferdinand but I was so impressed with our Church. I was confirmed at St. Ferdinand and wanted to get married there. Without any objections from my now husband we ventured off to see what he had to do. Basically not that much. I made a deposit and requested the date. Few months before the wedding we did the pre-cana class (we attended a special pre-cana because DH is over 30 and has children from previous relationship). Pre-cana was not at St. Ferdinand. The priest assigned to us was Father Torba whom we loved. He is the head priest at St. Ferdinand. He was very knowledgable about the process and made us feel at ease. D had to answer a couple extra questions and sign a paper saying he wont object to me raising kids Catholic. Ceremony was beautiful. The readings we picked weren't very religious but more on the subject of Love. Father Torba gave a small cermon following our readings which was so beautiful it made me tear up. The Church was decorated by the sisters in beautiful flowers. St. Ferdinand does not allow your own ceremony decor. You pay them the fee which includes decor that the sisters do since there are 3 weddings on Saturday. Highly Recommend.

Rehearsal Dinner - Trattoria Poretta (http://www.trattoriaporretta.com/) A+ $

Very last minute but so worth it. Porettas was recommended by a friend who is Italian. They were SUPER accomodating, food came fast and the waitress was sooo attentive! If you're North/West I highly

Dresses-Davids Bridal in Vernon Hills

This is one place I didnt even think I wanted to go but I initially went for my dress which I had for a few months and the more I looked at it the more I hated it! Davids Bridal was nice enough to allow me to exchange my dress for the one I have now which I am sooo in love with.  Also, my bridal consultant, Nancy was super helpful the second time I went in and wanted to make sure she understood what I didnt like about the first dress and that I left there sure of my second choice.  Also got the bridesmaids dresses there and they all came in on time and correct.

Venue-Independence Grove in Libertyville

So far so good though I was having some minor issues with communication for a little bit.  The first lady we dealt with there seemed very uninterested and didnt really give me a good feeling but our doc that we have now is great. No problems to speak of.  At Independence Grove the catering and linens and equipment all get rented through them so not many other vendors to review.  The catering is done through Michaels and well, the tasting was awesome so Im sure the wedding food will be just as yummy :)

We also looked at Thunderhawk which we liked a lot although were doing the ceremony and the reception all at the same place and if we had to have an indoor ceremony there, there really was no place for guests to go while they reset. That was a major decision maker for us.  Didnt really want guests hanging out cocktailing while the ceremony chairs get reset to the dinner tables and tables are getting shifted around.

Wedding Photographer-Tracy Koski in Antioch and Rob Metzel from Black Tie Photography out of Wisconsin.

Tracy photographed my brothers wedding and shes very affordable and my friend Rob, Ive known since highshool.  Rob and a friend of his just started their own business not too long ago, hes really talented and hes got a great eye.  Due to finances, we might just be going with Rob though.

Tuxes-Mens Wearhouse in Gurnee

Havent picked up tuxes yet, obviously so no complaints thus far ;)

Hotel-either the Springhill Suites in Waukegan or The Residence Inn in Wakuegan

Im not sure, Ive spoken to someone at both of these places and actually the Residence Inn had better prices and two different types of rooms to choose from where the Springhill Suites just had one room type therefore, one rate.  Also the Residence Inn has a shuttle which is free with 10 rooms but only for 2 round trips. I kinda dont but that cause one of my bridesmaids used them for her wedding and they got unlimited shuttle usage because technically, the shuttle is for the hotel guests, while it wasnt always around, it was free. So were leaning towards the Residence Inn but havent decided totally.

DJ-Funtimes DJ in Gurnee

They did one of our friends weddings and did a great job, fi and i are probably totally taking away from their creative juices by providing them with playlists for everything. But were just really picky, their top 200 playlist couldve easily been our top 200 do not playlist-hahaha! okay, we stole a few songs off of it :)

Flowers-Nora Workman (also bridesmaid)

Nora does flowers as a side job and shes pretty awesome! I got to see her in action a few weeks ago when I went with her to her wholesale guy and it was fun. Shes really creative and knows what shes doing. If anyone needs any flowers done, let me know...

Gina - Independence Grove is GORGEOUS!  I also looked at Independence Grove, but their Saturday prices were too scary for my pocketbook.

well, their friday prices are not much cheaper but my dad is taking care of that bill. luckily for us.  there are a lot of ways to lower the cost though too. we got our proposal a few weeks ago so we found out the cost per person and my doc said ours was under the average, for them atleast, that might not be saying much :)

Hey ladies!
I'm in NWI, but I guess still considered Chicago!

Ceremony and reception: Wicker Memorial Park, in Highland Indiana! Beautiful outside gazebo in front of pond and then the hall is beautiful! We are having it on a Sunday. Much cheaper for parents budget :-)

(my first pick was Starved Rock State Park down in Utica, IL my husband grew up over there and I lived there for a few years, park is BEAUTIFUL! but books soooooo fast! plus i wanted an outdoor ceremony and they only do those one day outta the year!)

Photographer: Mike Taylor out of Indianapolis. So far he has been great, we had one meeting and he was very professional and nice! Does great work and works with you on what you want done. Plus gave us an AWESOME package with great options and bonus stuff as well.

DJ: Matt from In the mix entertainment, they are outta Joilet, IL. Been really nice so far, been doing alot of communication thru e-mails. Having a phone convo with him this Wednesday.

Wedding Dress: David's Bridal in Orland Park

Bridesmaid dresses: David's Bridal in Aurora, IL

cake: soon to be decided. the cake shop i had planned, is closing, so i got back my deposit. so i'm on thehunt again.

Minister: Rev John Fluris from Indiana Ministries. Found him online. Awesome man, very fun and nontraditional!

Florist: Dixons Florist in Munster. Very nice lady, really cared for what I wanted and gave opinions that really worked well.

Thats it, of what I can think of. My parents still live in IL, so thats why alot is there still.
Good luck other Chicago brides!

Well I'm Having A DW so not to many Chi town vendors but

ULTIMATE BRIDAL was incredible! I had Kate who was so supper sweet. She should have gotten soo impatient with me because I was torn between 2 dresses, but she just kept letting me put them on and take them off over and over AND over again. I got the sketch of my dress and the fabric swatch for my dress a couple weeks ago, which is so cool!!!!!!

A TICKET TO PARADISE- They are a DW travel agency that we hired that is here in Chicago. They have been so incredible, they set up our wedding website, made and sent our save the dates, helped us find THE perfect resort for our wedding, plus handled all the travel arrangements for our guest. They are like a Travel agency and Wedding planner, Honeymoon planner in one. I give them an A+++ but they just hired me so I might be a bit bias.:)

Hi Ladies!

St. Mary's Catholic Church in Mundelein

The scenery around the Church is all farmland, and the original Church is next door. I just love that it's all open, and beautiful.

Chevy Chase Country Club in Wheeling

I love this place. It has a warm feeling, great patio outside our reception, great food, and staff is amazing. Also the grounds are very pretty.

Entwined of Grayslake is my Florist

So far so good. I really like the shop, and the ladies that run it.

David's Bridal-Vernon Hills

I was NOT crazy about the idea of getting anything from David', but after many boutiques and no luck I took my Sister up on the idea. I tried on a Oleg Casini, and fell in love.

The Bridesmaid dresses are from David's as well. After going to A'Lamour in Barrington, and finding that the original dress I wanted the girls to get was a terrible peace of tissue we headed to David's. They have a new line of party dresses, and I found one in black that will be perfect for all the girls.Hi Ladies St Mary photo 1551365-2

Since this thread was started so long ago, a lot has changed on my end!

Here are my new vendors!

Venue & Catering: Valley Lo Club in Glenview.  The original place (Oak Brook Bath and Tennis) underwent new management and increased their prices by about $50 pp.  Needless to say, the new management company did NOT get a good review from me after the hassle we had to go through to retrieve our deposit.

Cake: Chef Paul Catering - I posted a vendor review of them.  Ginger is fantastic to work with and their food - Delicious!

Photographer: Theresa Scarbrough - Smitten by her work.

DJ: Don Kaminsky of XL Entertainment - he's based out of Indiana but travels to Chicago.  He had nothing but fantastic reviews on the Knot (where I found him)

Transportation: Rockford Charter Coach - BY FAR the best pricing I've received yet.  I have a 15 person motor coach for 8 hours for a fabulous price of $495.  I am personally friends with the owner, but am pretty sure that is their standard rate.

Hotel: Sheraton Chicago - Northbrook

DOC - Sharokina Pazand of Events by Sharokina - After our initial DOC cancelled, I scrambled to find a new one.  Sharokina is AMAZING!  She is so super thorough with everything and is just so personable.  Definitely know everything is in good hands with her!

Makeup - Ryan Jaeger - Yay for Ryan!  I had a few makeup trials and none of them were able to do my Asian eyes without making me look like a clown.  Ryan got it right on, and made me look like myself, only a little better.  :)
