Color me crazy BUT . . .
I'm wondering what you ladies think. Our reception venue is a boutique hotel with a jazz/rock n roll theme throughout (it is in downtown Memphis - so the theme suits). It's done in a classy way though. They mix subtle classic patterns like damask with bolder hues. We are thinking of doing platinum bridesmaid dresses with accent colors of red, black and white.
As a result also, we are wanting an edgy but classic look to mirror that of the hotel. So for centerpieces/reception decor we are thinking this . . .
Here is the ballroom - the decor of the hotel is exquisite but the ballroom is kind of a cookie cutter hotel ballroom (though I really like the colors). The red chairs will NOT be replaced - so the red accent is a play on the chairs.
For tablecloths I'm thinking:
For centerpiece vases I'm thinking of doing a DIY something similar to this using the mirror paint and metallic red paint:
We would use tall vases with either white feather pomanders or perhaps even white carnation pomanders (budget is a consideration - so that would depend on the quote from the florist):
Around the base of each we will use the votive cups that we DIYed a couple of weeks ago:
The reception is a brunch reception BUT the lighting in the ballroom will be dim - so I'm thinking the votives will be fine.
I'm curious to know what you all think. I've considered using red rose petals around the base of each vase but with roses not being used elsewhere for the wedding that it would look funny.
Now I'm open for suggestions and ideas to make this look like it is done on purpose . . . and not because of or on a budget.
