Commissionning dress, so excited!

Okay, I finally talked to a seamstress who does a lot of ballet costumes about making my dress! I'm so excited because she does beautiful work with delicate fabrics. I've asked her to recreate this dress in silk with a solid panel of semi-sheer georgette, chiffon or soft tulle in the back. I haven't decided if I want the back panel to be brunched all the way accross or to fall flat against my back...
We're also thinking of replacing the belt with an overlay of the same semi-sheer, matte fabric on top of the silk. What do you think? Will that break up a long silhouette? Or will it add a nice detail?

ps I know there's a typo in the title, it wouldn't me fix commissioning!

I'm sure the dress will be perfect :) I guess I would change the belt to an overlay...and I would keep the back panel flat against your back... :) The dress looks gorgeous :)

OKAY I'm going to flip. My mother arranged to have this woman sew my dress. She is very talented but when we finally spoke she was sooooo rude. Without seeing me or the dress images yet she said, "well you have to be a certain body type to wear a bespoke wedding dress and youre probably not that way..." I wanted to flip and start yelling because I'm 5'9" and while I have been thinner like when I was working in fashion, I'm definitely not fat, ask my two trainers that I see everyday. I was totally offended. Furthermore a good tailor can make anything look good for anyone. Then she started giving her daughter as an ideal body type... okay this girl had to go to the hospital because her spine wasn't supporting her as she wasn't eating enough while she was dancing...lacking nutrients. Now she wears a back brace. Despite her size 00 its hard to tailor around a hulking back brace. I can't believe how warped some people are. On the search for a different dressmaker....

Sheesh, some people are unbelievable. It's hard to understand how somebody who provides a service could be so incredibly rude to their potential customers, but it seems to happen a lot. Sorry about the hiccup, but don't worry, you'll find someone who will be able to make your dress beautifully AND not insult you in the process!
