Ditto zeuster! I often wonder why we choose to stay and live here. Lol. Jk. I could buy a gorgeous house elsewhere but here....not so much! Gotta be savvy ;)

Wow.  That is pretty interesting.  I'm in Florida but I guess that price pales in comparison to some of the other states.

That's interesting! I read that the average Iowa wedding is about 20K, but I don't know anyone who spent that much, we sure didn't! I would like to know how they come up with these numbers.

Does that really say that it is more expensive for me to get married in Charlotte, NC than in NY!?!  No wonder I'm losing sleep.  Craziness!

Living and having our at-home reception in the DC area, getting married in the  Boston area, and having twice the "bridal" expenses (since it was a same-sex wedding) made it a real challenge to keep our budget below $10,000.

@Sammy_D:  One thing to remember is that the average cost of a wedding is greatly inflated by a few really expensive weddings.  If you check CostOfWedding.com, they will show you both the average wedding cost for an area, and the cost paid by most couples.  The latter is always much lower.
