Curves

So I've been trying to eat healthier and so far, so good.  I'm not really overweight, but I still wanna lose about 10 pounds to get me to my ideal weight.  I'm actually more concerned with toning up though.  I HATE my legs!  I never wear anything above my knees unless I'm at home because I have the cheese and they jiggle when I walk :-(  lol.  My arms are lame too!  They're super skinny, but it's pretty embarrassing especially because my flexed arm is the same size as when I'm not flexing!  SAD!  I'm soooo out of shape and need to do something!  I get tired going up a flight of stairs...lol  I hate going to the gym for many reasons, so I was wondering if anyone has gone to Curves.  Does it even work?  It's hard for me to believe that 30 minutes would be able to make a huge difference, but if it does then I'll for sure go!  If that doesn't work, are there any good DVD's or anything else I can do?  I've been walking everyday but I don't feel it's enough at all.  It's cool for a little weight loss, but not enough to tone.  I've tried running but I have really bad knees so that kinda sucks.  Let me know what works for you!

Thanks :-)

I think what works is what works for you- you know?

I do yoga and I hike a few days a week. I like being outdoors. I did work out with a trainer for a week and 1/2 before I got married-  that motivation helped a lot. The classic:  cardio and weights are what usually have the most results for any body. I need to work out with weights more, I know. I just don't like being in the gym these days.

Can you find a friend to work out with/hike/play tennis  whatever?  Working out with someone can really be great because if you make a date to work out, you usually stick to it.   good luck

Thanks theDame, I'm totally like you!  I'd rather be outdoors, but I'm kind of interested in DVD's that I can do at home and I figured since Curves is only 30 minutes, it shouldn't be that bad.  I used to play softball, but I haven't in awhile and am looking to getting back into it.  It's true that working out with someone keeps you motivated and it also passes the time a lot faster!

I did curves one summer because i got it for free.   If you dont usually work out, and movement and excercise will be new to your body, it would be good for weight loss.  If your body is used to working out, then you may see a little toning, but not big results.   I was used to going to the gym and going on hikes, so i only saw a teeny little toning from going to curves all summer.  But hey, if you think it would work for you, and it is something that you would actually get up and go do, then by all means give it a shot   =)

You can try a Bally's with classes...I spend hours at the gym now because I love what they have to offer!

Good luck!

Soon2BeENR, I do have a Bally's membership!  haha The thing is, I can't do it on my own.  I need someone to tell me what to do so I know I will do it!  haha I was looking into the classes but the only thing is that I have a crazy schedule so the only times I'd be able to go are between 2-5 and it's hard to find classes at that time :-(

Cali- also buy some Nivea Skin Firming lotion for your legs. I love this stuff. http://products2.nivea.com/products.php?page_id=203&lan=usa

Try getting a workout buddy who can workout at those times, or see about getting a trainer.

Best of luck

Cali-  what about a trainer @ Bally's?  they must have deals and if you have an appt, you'd be motivated/forced/encouraged to go....
