C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Epidural - wanted to go natural but I was induced with Piticon so I decided on the epi at 4cmm

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  It was just DH, my dr and the OB nurse.  I loved having just DH in there!  It was very peaceful

OB or Midwife?:  Midwife

Doula?: I don't think we'll have one.

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: I'd like to think I'd be strong enough for natural but it'll probably end up epidural.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Hospital

Water birth?: I dont know if my hospital offers this but it's not something I'm interested in.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  DH and my mom.  DH is pulling for his mom to be in there too because the possibilty of his sister having her own children is low and he'd like for his mom to see her first grandchild being born.  I'm torn, she stresses me out and she REALLY stresses him out so it's a subject that still needs discussed right now.

OB or Midwife?:  Definitely a midwife

Doula?: Probably won't have one

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Natural

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  I'm between hospital and birthing center. After my first prenatal appt, we'll probably check out the birthing center place and find out the cost differences with my insurance. I like the comfort of being in the hospital in the rare case that something could go wrong, but I love the calm atmosphere of the birthing centers and the fact that they don't push drugs on you.

Water birth?: I'd definitely be interested in this if it was an option.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?: DH for sure, but I'm not sure about anyone else yet.

OB or Midwife?:  OB

Doula?: OB is enough for me... haha

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: If I get pitocin again, I will have an epidural, no questions asked... we'll go into it planning to go as long as I can without.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Hospital

Water birth?: NO way!

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  DH and I am thinking about birth photography.

OB or Midwife?:  First go around had a widwife, I plan on starting with the midwives again, if things get to complicated then I'll switch to the doctor

Doula?: no

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: First go around was an emergency c-section, this time I would like to think I could do natural but im okay with epidural- I will actually be happy with any way it happens but i really want to give vaginal delivery a whirl

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Hospital

Water birth?: I would consider it, if my hospital offered it (but they dont as of right now)

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  First go around I wanted my mom and DH ONLY .... This time I dont really care who is in the room lol

OB or Midwife?:  Midwife

Doula?: Probaby not.

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Natural as much as I can do. If I feel like I can't handle it I'm think about meds.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Hospital

Water birth?: I don't believe my Hospital offers this.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  DH & My mom. DH keeps saying he's not going to be in the room. Unfortunately for him, he has no say in this and he will be right by my side. :)

OB or Midwife?:? I gave birth in England so it is always a midwife unless you need any sort of intervention - so for me it was 2 midwives, 2 consultants and a spectator gallery!! If I'd charged for admission I could have made a fortune!! Lol

Doula?: No

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Just gas & air (until they had to give me a spinal just in case thy had to do a c-section with babe #2)

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:? Hospital

Water birth?: Nope - not a big fan of water - but my friend swears by it and had 2 amazingly smooth births

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:? Just FI.....and a lot of students/midwives/consultants etc etc - at one point I counted 2 people!!

OB or Midwife?:? OB (has to be an OB unfortunately)

Doula?: No

C-section, Epidural or Natural birth? : I really want to do natural (my pain tolerance has always been crazy high) because I know I could do it, but it has to be a C- section :( I have a condition to where I have known all my life that vaginal birth is not possible (it is, but too many risks involved make it not worth it). To make long story short, I would most likely have several pelvic fractures and a very big chance that the baby would get stuck. Sucky situation for sure.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:? Hospital since it will be a C-section.

Water birth?: Sounds great, but no.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:? DH in the OR and mom right outside

OB or Midwife?:? Midwife

Doula?: We won't need one since we will have a three midwife team with us the entire time and they will take turns doing the role of a doula. But I had one with my first in the hospital and I would HIGHLY recommend it- she was invaluable.

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Unless something happens and I have to transfer to a hospital it will be a natural birth. I had a c-section with my DD after working towards a natural hospital birth.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:? Birth center (not one affiliated with a hospital)

Water birth?: Yep.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:? It will be my dh and my midwife team. If its going well and we can plan it correctly I would love my mom and daughter to be there for the final push!

I thought I would BUMP this for the new mama's and mama's-to-be.

OB or Midwife?:  It'll be my OB or my Midwife. I see them both in my OBGYN practice. Whoever is on call at the time I give birth will deliver the baby.

Doula?: Yes! We are in the process of interviewing. I see a doula as an invaluable expert in labor and birth in which me & DH know very little about since we are first time parents and dont know what to expect.

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Natural

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Hospital

Water birth?: Would love this, but my hospital doesnt have birthing tubs :( I am planning on laboring at home in my bath tub though.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?: My mom, DH & a doula.

OB or Midwife?:  Midwife (my twin sister)

Doula?: My sister will take care of me and my baby before, while and after birth. It's common in Germany and covered by any insurance. A midwife is like a doula in Germany, if she is free-lance

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Trying for natural. C-section would be my worst case scenario

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Would love to have a home birth, otherwise it will be hospital

Water birth?: Would prefer it but often heard that most women could not be the whole delivery in the tube because of the heat.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  Hopefully DH (He absolutely can not see blood) and my sister as my Midwife/ Doula

OB or Midwife?:  OB

Doula?: I don't think so

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: I'm open to whatever is safest for the baby and for myself. If things are going well naturally, great. If I need the epidural, that's fine.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  Hospital

Water birth?: I don't think this is for me

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  DH... my mom will be at the hospital, though

This is all kind of up in the air until we go back to BC and I can discuss it with my regular doctor. I'll still be seeing my regular doctor until I'm around 35 weeks, regardless of what else happens.

OB or Midwife?:  Prefer Midwife.

Doula?: No

C-section, Epidural or Naural Birth?: Natural, drug-free.

Hospital, birthing center, or home birth?:  I would love a home birth or birthing centre, but don't have that option, so it will be at a hospital.

Water birth?: Definitely, as long as the hospital I go to allows it.

Anyone else in the room during delivery?:  Just DH.

Because of where we live, the closest hospital is over an hour away, and the closest midwives are 3 1/2 hours away. DH wants to look into staying at his parents' place for a few weeks, which is 2 hours away from the city where we could get a midwife, but I'm not sure if that is a good idea. However, if we go to the closest hospital, I won't be able to have the birth I want, and definitely won't get a water birth since they don't allow it. We still have a few months to decide, and it is definitely something I will be discussing with my doctor as soon as possible.
