Did anyone NOT freeze their top cake layer?

I am coming up on my one year anniversary next month and realized that we didn't freeze our top cake layer.  We got married in Maui and it just wasn't feasible.  I am trying to figure out if I should try to get the top layer replicated or just forget about it.  Is it bad luck?

We didn't.  We forgot.  :/  We got too distracted by the OOTs who stayed with us after the wedding and by the time we remembered, the cake was literally rock-hard.  I was kinda worried that it might be bad luck, but I figure we'll just have the same topper cake made for our 1st anniversary.  :)

We won't save ours because our baker gives us a small cake on our anniversary for free for the the first five years. :)

We didn't!! We bad a cupcake tower and the top layer was the only cake part! So thats the part we cut. We're not worried about it- we also went on a 2.5 week long road trip for a honeymoon and moved accross the country. I don't know how we would have frozen it and saved it... it would have melted in our car!

Same here. we had cupcakes and the person who made out cupcakes made us a cake for our anniversary. Its one of those "traditional" things that people did and I think its great but definitely not a sign of luck or love.

AND

OMG A YEAR ALREADY!!!! Seriously??? woooohoooo I cant believe how fast that went. ill ever forget when you posted your STUNNING wedding photos. Such a perfect day x

We weren't going to save any, but I cut a piece out and put it in a tupperware and put in the freezer. HAHA. It will probably be gross, and we will just order cupcakes or another bundt cake for our anniversary, but hey, why not!

I don't think it's bad luck not to, though. And ditto, I can't believe it's almost been a year since your gorgeous wedding!

We didn't have cake, therefore there wasn't a top layer to freeze and honestly I didn't even miss it on our first anniversary!

Congrat on almost reaching your first anniversary, you are blessed. I don't think its bad luck. We froze our cake, our DOC had the venue wrap it for us, the one thing I will say is that it takes up freezer space, and better be worth it! Yep, just bake or buy if you really want a cake.

We probably won't have anything to freeze.  I'm not worried about it.  I'll make FI a cake for our anniversary.
