Did you get what you paid for???

Well I have been kind of a stickler lately when Im disappointed with that feeling that "I didn't get what I paid for" concept- so I thought to apply it to our weddings....

Whether your married or not, looking at your wedding, do you feel like you got what you paid for?  Either overall, with a vendor, honeymoon, attire, etc???

Sometimes what you think isn't what you really get.  The quality of something, service, professionalism can give you that feeling your not geting what you deserve, KWIM?

-------------------------------------------------------------

I'll go first:

Overall: YES, the wedding was beautiful and we did it almost sticking to our budget!

Vendors: I felt we got what we paid for with all of our vendors- except our caterer!  They could have done a better job with their customer service, professionalism, and food...  I was disappointed with them overall.  All my other vendors played their part and they did it well! So they lived up to the expectations!  Other then that I think cakes are a little over-rated as far as price goes lol

What about dealing with the vendors you have been working with?

Like: Do you think your flowers and service are worth "X amount" of dollars???

I think most of our services are well worth the money.. there's a few: string quartet, carriage, and limo that are SO NOT WORTH THE MONEY.. paying $525 for 1 hour of strings?!?!  wow, but we paid the price to complete our wedding..

well weddings are ridiculously overpriced. but in comparison to what other brides are paying, i think we are getting a great deal and more than what we're paying for in our venue!

same for our priest

can't say the same for other things but ask me in 79 days!

same here

the restaurant sort of messed up on our day!

wont go into detail, or else I will get irate again!

but they messed up- some people noticed, but I still had the time of my life.

Chair rental delievered the chairs about 40 mins before ceremony. so I was still setting them up when I needed to be ready.

plus we paid $140 in delivery when it was only 5 miles away from their location!

EXACTLY June6Bride- thats why I made the post lol I feel like things are sooooo over-priced but you don't get what you expect for it.  LOL even when shopping, eating at restaurants, etc.  Let alone the wedding- I figure you spend all this money on a wedding- vendors should be professional, helpful, accommodating, kissing YOUR butt lol, get back to you, organized, etc, to the T lol  JMO though :)

dinner: $3,000 for 4 course meal for 80. TOTALLY worth it. best chicken cordon bleu ever!!

Flowers: $600 for 3 bouquets an arraingement for DH's deceased twin brother, and 10 boutoniers. NOT worth it. We weren't unhappy with what we got but thought it was expensive for what we got.

Photog: $1,500 for full day plus all images on CD plus 400 prints. TOTALLY worth it. We did a TON of shopping around, we got the same quality pictures as the $2500 + packages with other photogs.

DJ: $450, a friend of a friend. It was a great price. The music was just fine, but it really ticked us off that he could not get Elijah's name correct. Pronouncing the grooms name is kind of important.
