Disappointing Bachelorette "Party"--Have to Vent!!!

Hey ladies,

I don't want to depress anyone but I have to vent. My bachelorette party was this past Friday and it was such a disappointment. It was a small group to begin with (my MOH, two future sis in laws, two close girlfriends)...I was taken to dinner in Times Sq (one of my fave restaurants, Bubba Gump) and it was nice to say the least. It's hard when you're not so close to everyone in the group so the chit chat was awkward a few times. So when we leave the restaurant, my MOH turns to me and asks "so, what else do you want to do?"....I thought it was something that the group was supposed to plan without much info from me. I did email my MOH a few weeks ago with a ton of ideas that I was interesting in doing. But I guess she didn't take any of them into consideration and never bothered to think of anything else. Luckily the one friend of mine who had actually stayed (the other had to leave to feed her boyfriend, which i don't get he's a grown man) suggested a pretty cool hangout bar so we all trekked on the subway to uptown manhattan. We were there a full hour when the two sis in laws and MOH, looked at their watches and said "we're leaving, it's getting late". It was only midnight too. I along with my friend were in total shock! They paid the bill and left, I was on the verge of grabbing my beer glass and flinging it at them as they walked out. My friend turned to me and apologized profusely. I told her not to worry, it wasn't her fault. So she decided to continue treating me to drinks for another 2 hrs and then we left.

Am I wrong to feel cheated? I'm not the type of person who says "me me me" all of the time but this was an exception. I thought bachelorette parties were to celebrate the bride? I'm far from being a princess but I was actually looking forward to being #1 that evening.

Oh wow that was terrible! I think you should express how you feel to your MOH. I cannot believe that! She was did a terrible job, maybe the other friend that stayed with you should take her place!! I am so sorry honey :(  **HUGS**

Thanks Sarah....I want to say something to my MOH (she's also my FI's sis) but at this point, I have to just let it go. In my heart I know it wasn't going to be wild and crazy because she's not that type of person. But I figured she would at least go with one of my ideas or even one of what my other friend had suggested. To top it off, I just got off the phone with my mom and she's pissed at her too. Apparently my shower had to be rescheduled and MOH hasn't sent out the updated info. Ugh, I just want to strangle the girl. I have a feeling that she's not happy about being the MOH. Unfortunately nothing can be done at this point, my day is in less than a month so I can't drop her like a hot potato.  I'm going to talk to her later tonight.

Hang in there! Unfortunetly we all go through these 'surprises' it seems.  I didn't expect much from mine either- BUT when we had them I also had a few disappointments- so I completely no where you are coming from.  I happens more frequent to brides then you'd think.  Half of my wedding stress was dealing with situations in times like those, so I understand... *hugs*

i'm sorry it turned out to be so crappy... sometimes people don't see much outside their own lives.  i would say something (in a non-attacking way) becuase they probably don't even realize what they did.  as for you MOH, that was TOTALLY unfair of her... i'm so sorry.

Oh no...im so sorry!

Were there other girlfriends that you would have preferred to be there?  If so, (granted, maybe i'm ghetto) but I would organize my own night out on the town with my girlfriends (or ask the 1 friend that stayed with you to plan) and go out and have a good time.

If the bachelorette party is not on ur priority list, then just focus on ur upcoming amazing day when you will shine as a beautiful bride!

HUGS!!!!
