DIY beverage dispenser?

Do you think it would work or leak?? I could jazz up the lid to not look so "picklejarish" I just don't want to spend $50 bucks on one....

Yeah I feel like cutting a hole in the jar would probably crack it.

They have one a JCPenney pre-made for only like, $25. I dunno if that makes it more appealing. :)

OH! And if you're going to DIY, you can get apothacary jars for $10 at TJMaxx, and it would be more glam than a pickle jar. lol if you hadn't already thought of it

It may be worth a try, but the ones i used i got at Target for $14.

Word of wisdom:  the spickets poor REALLY slow, and if you are planning on using it for a party where multiple people will want to use it, its kinda pointless.  plus they always drip.  I have 4 bev jars and have used them so many times!  I turn them around so the spicket is in the back and use a big ladle.

Yes, it will work . You would have to use a glass drill bit w/ a drill and water to drill a hole for the dispenser spout. It takes about 10 minutes. I do it all the time with glass containers I find while thrifting that I use for my plants. A spout can be purchased online easily. Good luck.

Unless you know what you're doing, your best bet would probably be to buy one at Target. FI loves sun tea so we just bought a 3 gallon glass one with a stand for $30.  It's heavy as all get out, but I just wash it in the bathtub in between uses.

I found mine at BB&B for $20 a pop. They look just like Mason jars, and will be perfect for my bar.
