DIY Chalboard Tutorial

Supplies:

  • Picture frame
  • Chalkboard paint

1. use the flat side of the board.

2. make sure the residue is removed from the back. Sand if needed

3. brush on a coat of chalkboard paint. let dry. brush on a coat or two more until covered. (or spray paint)

4. season your chalkboard by rubbing a layer of chalk all over and erasing.

 I did this over the weekend and made a baby shower decoration. Instead of a picture fram I picked up some fancy cut plywood from Michael's.

 I love it, I actually helped a friend do a whole wall in her kitchen in chalk board paint. Her nieces and nephews love it and it keeps them occupied while she is baby sitting and needs to cook or work in the kitchen.  I'm definitely going to try this project for my apartment.
