DIY invites Vista Print?

My friend was telling me i should purchase my invites through vista print to save $, i do graphic design and i have already planned to design them (I have been doing graphic design for 5 years and have made lots of invites for others, no rookie) Has anyone vista print them for printing invites? I havent used them in years (they printed my business cards years ago) Also would it look weired if the invite is glossy like a flyer style? If i did vista print i would design them myself upload it and buy extra flat card stock from papersouce for a backing/ border to layer them and would line the envelops also to match design.

I have done lots of invites in the past for others (some custom $500-1000) even though i love all things paper when it comes to weddings, i am an extreme couponer and love saving even more. I cant imagine spending over $250 on invites lol I really feel if you have a great design it will look beautiful and nobody will know. :-0 I will keep the girls posted. I have to get them out by the end of September so i will be designing them soon.

I totally agree! I DIYd my invitations and my brother's and saved a fortune - I love that they are completely unique.

I believe Vistaprint has an option of non-glossy paper for invites now.  I just ordered some postcards for work and I was able to get them matte.  HTH!

Looking forward to seeing your design!

I used Vista Print for my Save the Date magnets. They were quick and the quality was good, the printing was eh. (Not to say I haven't seen GREAT Vista Print stuff. I think they just messed up my order.)

I used Vista Print photo 3482277-1

There is a teenie white line at the bottom of the magnet. Not a big deal, I didn't even call to complain, I sent them out as is.

I used Tiny Prints for my wedding inviations and  liked the way they came out. You get 8 samples to choose from before you decide which one to go with and since I had never used them before I recieved 15$ off my purchase! Whichever you go with DIY you will save tons of money!

I used Vistaprint for my RSVP postcards when they were running a special, and I absolutely loved the way they turned out, even though they were glossy.  If you wait for Vistaprint to run a special (which they do all the time), you can save so much money.
