DIY monogram aisle runner

I have a DIY bride book that shows how to make a DIY monogram aisle runner using photoshop to create your monogram and then tracing on a paper aisle runner and painting by hand however I cannot find a paper aisle runner at any local craft or party store or online they are either plastic or an felt like fabric which I'm afraid the paint will bleed. Has anyone done theirs or have any tips on how to?

I'm planning on doing this same project. However I'm going to try it on plastic since it's going to be on grass. As far as finding paper though, maybe check out a teachers supply store? Or maybe if you have someone who works at a elementary school they have those big rolls of "butcher paper" and you can get some from there. If not, definitly the teachers supply store sells butcher paper.

I just started to make mine...I bought the runner from Michael's, it's fabric, but see-through, so easy to trace your monogram on, and bought some acrylic paints in our wedding colors. I just traced it on after I blew the monogram up at Kinko's, and have begun painting. I am not too crafty, and it is going well. I think I will have to outline the paint with a paint marker, only because the paint isn't exactly in the lines, but you can't tell unless you are face to face with it, which I am sure no one else will be besides myself!
